stayed here for two nights, lovely b&b, felt really at home. breakfast was great, served by the legend that is "bill"!! a wonderful character!! keep up the good work.

We had a second visit to Box Tree having discovered it in December 2009. Our second visit was again in December and the whole town was snow-covered. Upon arrival the visitors lounge had a lovely warm cottage feel with a roaring open log fire. A nice touch was the tin full of Roses sweets on the table to help yourself. On our fist visit we had a quite small twin bedded room as this was all that was available. However, it was still comfortable and the bathroom was quite large in comparison of the room. For our second stay we booked the superior room and paid extra, I was not disappointed. The room was very large and the bed was so comfortable I wanted to take it home. There is also a nice touch of sweets in the room. Decor is traditionally old cottage style. Situated in a quiet area, there is ample private parking whilst it is reasonably close to the city centre with just a short walk before you reach the main shops, pubs and restaurants. Breakfasts are catered for by ordering the night before and you choose what you want. Nice selection of cerials, juices and fruits are available. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful providing good advice and tips of where to go and eat etc. Ripon is a lovely base and the Box Tree Cottages provide that lovely warm feeling that a trip in December cries out for. Very comfortable, good food, good location with a feel that you have not stayed in a B&B but a friends lovely old Cottage........look forward to next visit.

I stayed at Box Tree Cottage while working away from home, as soon as I arrived I felt so calm and relaxed , Barbara and Bill were lovely hosts, because I was on my own they made a real effort to chat to me and sat me by the window at breakfast time ( nicest breakfast iv had anywhere , and plenty of it) my room was large and airy, pretty but functional, can't wait to go back !

Although the room was a little small it had everything we needed for a 1 night stay. The room and en-suite were immaculately clean and the breakfast set us up for the day.The car parking is a bonus and the city centre is only a short walk. The property is perhaps in need of a bit of freshening up here and there but overall is an excellent place to to stay in Ripon.
