“Not where I would choose to eat”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

One Saturday we decided to take a trip to Portstewart and at about 7.30pm we decided to go to Cromore Halt for a meal. Big mistake, The only good thing about it was the parking. Inside it looked more like a cafe, no atmosphere. We were given menu which was adequate but not impressive and when we had choosen what we wanted we were told we would have to go to a desk area at door to order food and if we wanted a drink we would then have to go to the bar. Even though I prefer waitress/waiter service hubby went to bar and I went to order food. Waiter who took my order shouted over to my husband at the bar that he would be with him in a minute when he had taken food order. This was beginning to iritate me and when I was then asked to pay for the food before I had received it I decided I did not want ot stay any longer and we left. We then went to Anchor Bar were we had a great meal and several drinks which we enjoyed and paid for on departure.

I will never return to Cromore Halt

“pleasant staff and very good food”

Had a meal with friends in the resturant on a Saturday night in November. The resturant is on the outskirts of the town, so very convienent, with adequate parking.
Welcome was very friendly and helpful. The food was well presented and very good with a good choice to suit most tastes.
Facilities were clean and tidy.
This is a well run resturant offering a great selection at sensible prices.

“Outstanding venue.”

What a pity we could only stay one night for B & B. The quality of this hotel is such that a longer stay would have been much enjoyed. Our overall impression is that this hotel is trying so hard to achieve high standards, that they deserve to suceed, and we believe they are doing so. The quality of service (always with a smile) and courtesy from every member of staff we encountered were excellent. The staff also displayed remarkable flexibility in meeting our slighltly bizarre eating requests - nothing was refused, nor seenas too much trouble. The quality of the accommodation and of the food, maatcvhed the high quality of the staff. Greatly looking forward to the opportunity of a return visit. Provides very good calue for money.

“Great Value for North Coast Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

Booked this hotel on the back of TA reviews and we were not disappointed. Unfortunately we were only staying one night. The welcome by the receptionist was fantastic; she could train receptionists in a lot of the hotels I have stayed in over the world as we were made very welcome. She gave us good information and direction. This 'here to help' attitude was replicated throughout the hotel's Bistro and Restaurant also.

The room was spacious with a double and single bed and above all was clean. The en-suite was good and the added bonus was that one could lie and soak in the bathtub whilst watching TV!! Within the room was a folder of 'Guest Information'. This should be standard in all hotels but all too often it is not. In this regard I must congratulate the Management of Cromore Halt as the folder is full of helpful information about the hotel and the North Coast generally. The information is clear and well-presented and is just about the best I have seen in a long time.
There is wireless internet throughout the accommodation. I found this rather slow during the evening but it was fine the next morning.
We dined in the Bistro and of course had breakfast in the restaurant. The food was excellent quality and as indicated previously the staff was very helpful and courteous.

I guess the challenge for the staff is over the busy summer months but if my experience is anything to go by then I am sure they cope with ease.

All in all I can heartily recommend this accommodation.
