“disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2011

The cottage we stayed in was spacious and had wonderful views to the ocean and the bed was comfortable . However it did not look anything like the brochure. Perhaps we stayed in one of the older cottages as it was somewhat run down, with torn flyscreens and curtains that didnt cover the windows. Our hosts were friendly but we hardly had any contact with them and there were no dinners or massages offered.
Having read all the wonderful reviews on trip advisor we did find this b&b rather disappointing and would not call it 4 star.

It really was a mountain retreat. You get your own home on stilts overlooking the hills and the sea.. its extremely romantic and was perfect for our honeymoon... The service was lovely and the place really unique and fun.

Highly recommend to anyone wanting to experience something a little different...

“Very special place to stay”

Two nights whilst travelling from Sydney to Brisbane - it was great to be able to stay up in the hills in such a peaceful location yet be only minutes from the beaches and towns along the coast. Stayed in the SeaScape cottage with breakfast brought to us by Penny each morning. The views from the hills were breathtaking. Very relaxing and a one-off experience - well worth it. Highly recommended.

“Romantic & Picture perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2008

We read all the trip advisor reviews about Sacred Mountain Retreat and deceided to spend 3 nights on our way to Sydney during our Aussie trip. We were really pleased that we discovered it. The hosts were very friendly and warm and nothing was too much trouble including massages at short notice and a meal that beat most others we'd had on our travels.
Our little cottage was super clean and cosy and had the most amazing views even from our bed. We went to the beach every day and I think we were the only ones there one day, the beach was miles long.
We saw kangaroos in the garden and colorful birds, unusual parrots and what were called butcher birds that sang to us at breakfast. Breakfast by the way was excellent.
Next trip to Australia we'll definately be going back for lomger.
We loved it and enjoyed every minute.

“Memories to treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2008

We stayed here for 5 nights to celebrate both a birthday and a Silver Wedding Anniversary. The hosts Penny and Toni were warm and welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful during our visit.

The location is stunning with 2 cottages (and a 3rd underway) nestled high in the hills and a good distance from each other for complete privacy. Our cottage even had it's own twin bed studio close by which was perfect as we had our 16 year old son with us. Chocolates, wine and flowers were waiting for us on arrival at our cottage. The cottage itself was spacious and beautifully furnished with amazing views from the mountain down to the coast.

We were woken each morning by birdsong in good time for breakfast which was delivered by either Penny or Toni (and Beaky the rainbow lorikeet!). Breakfast was delicious, freshly prepared fruit, yoghurt, cereal, pastries (different each day) and juice all beautifully presented in a basket.

There are various extras available which can be tailor made to suit the occasion. One afternoon we booked massages in the privacy of our own cottage and on our final evening we had the Seafood Platter prepared, beautifully presented and delivered to our cottage by Penny. It was absolutely delicious!

All in all it was a perfect location and experience for our special celebrations and we would highly recommend it to anyone else.
