We read the reviews and thought we would give it a go even though some of the reviews were poor. We had a conference to attend and we were booked there for 6 nights. Well we were very disappointed for what we got for the approx @$200.00 a night ``corporate rate`` that we paid. Still waiting for copy of the bill there system was down. The Room very basic with construction site view. We checked in Sunday approx 10 AM and To add insult to injury we were charged an extra $10 an hour for early check in without advising us totaling $35.00. Again very disappointed front desk staff member answers, well i can’t know everything i have been here for 6 weeks.
I retrospect I would have been better staying in Sydney for the same price. Never again
Think the hotel relies on people not knowing.

We decided to spend Valentine's Day/wedding anniversary out of home this year so ventured a half hour to Sydney's northern beaches for dinner and ended up at the Sands for the night. It's not a fancy place but is relatively new and the room was great.
We had an ocean view room with a big balcony where we enjoyed our breakfast whilst watching out over the ocean. The sound of the waves at night made us feel like we were on a holiday and we left for work in the morning all relaxed.
We'll be going back for a weekend stay to recharge the batteries some time soon. We love the northern beaches and it will make for an easy escape from regular life without the hassle of long hours of travel.

Until this trip I had not stayed in the Northern Beaches area of Sydney. I had an appointment early the following morning so I opted to find a reasonable hotel in the area. The Sands only has a Suite left and I thought what the heck, at least I will get a really great experience. The Suite was large, but dark and dreary with no view. The separate bedroom was small and had no outside window. I dined in the bistro and was amazed at just how poor the selection was. The quality was barely passable. I has my wife travelling with me and thought I might buy a bottle of wine. After consulting the wine list I reasoned I could do without the one and only Chardonnay.... a $7.00 - $8.00 bottle of Oxford Landing which would have set me back over $30.00. All in all I felt ripped off. The room was overpriced at $280.00 and this was supposedly at a discounted corporate rate.

Recently stayed and was disappointed. Had an engagement up the road and thought I would stay close. Should had taken taxi back to Sydney CBD. Service ordinary and noise levels from band unacceptable. Band finished late on the Saturday night.
