“Simply super!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

Charming little cottage managed by a very nice couple. You feel more like being home than a guest. Rooms are spacious, clean and well furnished (all solid wood!), food is very good and a super breakfast. pity we could only stay one night on the way back home. I am sure it is a great place for winter holidays and also during the summer. If you plan to saty in the area go there without hesitations. Perfect both for families and honeymooners.

“Absolutely beautiful and exceptionally welcoming.”

The owners of the chalet deserve a medal. Their home/catered chalet is beautifully decorated and kept to a superb standard. The food is fantastic and overall the Julie and Simon (the owners) can not do enough to help you. This is a very luxurious yet homely ski chalet and is definitely suited for people who appreciate the finer things. I found their prices very reasonable considering the services they offer, breakfast, afternoon tea, evening meal, wine and they will drive you too and from the ski lifts too. They are fare superior to any package ski holiday that I have ever had. Definitely worth a return trip. The only negative was that it was a little far out of town but with a regular bus service and Simons offers to take us back and forth to the ski lifts this was hardly a problem

“Only an overnight halt, but soooo wish we could have stayed longer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2010

I happened to find this place whilst looking on a swiss B & B website, and after some good communications with the owner (the fact that he spoke and wrote perfect English being a surprise, more on that later) I booked the chalet for me and five pals. We were driving from UK to Milan and needed an overnight stop and this was very close to our route.
Having stayed in an Etap hotel the previous night (budget was tight) to find this gem, nestled in the valley, was a sight for sore eyes.
Warmly greeted by Simon and Julia, who indeed actually were Brit's themselves (although Simon has Swiss parentage allowing him to have such a wonderful home in the valley).
The Chalet is fantastic. The bulk of the rooms were en-suite and, for us, had been arranged as twin rooms, just as requested.
We had room enough to park our four cars in the front of the chalet and the chalet itself is homely and spacious.
The property is arranged over three floors. The owners living on the ground floor, with an open plan dining area and lounge on the 2nd floor for guests. Bedrooms are on the third floor.
The Dining area and lounge both lead to terraces/ patio areas allowing for alfresco drinks before dinner.
As we had only B & B accommodation, we only had the opportunity to sample the vast continental style breakfast laid out in the morning.
Needless to say, it was lovely. Fresh bread, cereal, yoghurt, croissant, coffee, Orange juice and eggs of your choice. And it was the best soft boiled egg I'd personally had EVER!

This truly is a great place. Superbly located for walking or cycling in the valley and in winter Simon runs a minibus for guests to the cable cars locally, as well as ski instruction.
The price was very reasonable at 70CHF per person per night.

I would heartily reccomend this place to anyone without hesitation and if ever travelling close by again, will ensure my trip involves another stop at Chesa Flurina.

“A great place to stay in Davos-Klosters”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 March 2010

We had the good fortune to stay with Simon and Julia at Chesa Flurina in February 2010. (2 families, with 3 kids under 2).

It was sensational. All aspects were well above our expectations - even after seeing the great reviews on Trip Advisor.

Simon and Julia are perfect hosts. They are dedicated to service, but not "in your face". A stay at Chesa Flurina is more like a stay with old friends - who just happen to selflessly look after your every need, usually before you knew you were in need.

The food is fantastic. With the exception of Thursday (being Julia's well earned rest day), Julia makes an amazing dinner each night. Simon looks after prosecco aperitifs and a careful selection of good wine with dinner. On the rest day - there is a really super place in the adjoining town (400m walk or free bus). A real hidden gem. Julia also makes cakes - REALLY delicious cakes. Every day. Even if you are not a cake-eater, you'll eat these cakes. Damn, they are good!!!

No matter how hard you ski, expect to add a few pounds on the trip - and really enjoy doing so.

The rooms are spacious, with great beds and more than ample cupboard space. The bathrooms are scrupulously clean. The hot water comes on strong. There is also lots of wood - which I like to see in a chalet.

The common area, with fireplace, is large and great for winding down after a day in the hills.

There are ski racks and a boot warmer.

The ski bus runs right by the house - and Simon kindly offers to drive you to the lifts in the excellent van in any event. If you've not been to Klosters/Davos, nothing is really ski-in, ski-out, so the key is to be near the free ski bus route. Chesa Flurina fulfills that criteria. You can ski down to the adjoining village and walk (600m) back to the house - or catch the regular free ski bus. It’s all really easy.

The house also has great views. I mark "3" as being quite good - and gave location a "4" in this case, which is still really, really good. You cannot walk from the house to the main Klosters shops (which some people would like), but as I say above, there are regular free busses, which is fine in my opinion.

I'd recommend Chesa Flurina to people wanting a high-end ski week or weekend - and also to families. Rowdy, backpacking singles should look elsewhere - but I don't expect you read Trip Advisor anyway.

The place would also be great in summer - when the lifts are free to facilitate walks in the hills.

I must also say that skiing with Simon and Julie is a great pleasure and really enhances the stay. As the previous reviewer says - the guys have a passion for the hills.

My Davos/Klosters ski tip (thanks to Simon) is: if you like to get away from the crowds - take the valley down to St Antonien. It’s a wonderful run. Save from some objective risk in the afternoon from North-facing slopes above the valley towards the end, its pretty cool and safe.

You'll have a great holiday if you stay here.

“Family friendly with first class hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2010

From the moment we established contact with the hosts at Chesa Flurina, the emphasis on professionalism, courtesy and hospitality was evident. Our experience over the course of Chrismas week only confirmed it.
The hosts, Simon and Julia have carved a very unique niche for themselves in Klosters - where comfort, quality and an eye for detail are key elements of their offering. When faced with a potential two day delay because of cancelled flights, there was an immediate effort to suggest alternatives which resulted in us averting a frustrating 48 hour delay. In addition to this, as we were a late flight our connections to trains were not possible yet Simon was there to meet us at the airport. Once again not at all expected but very much appreciated.
The assistance only increased from there - from ski hire to transport to the main village to acting as a virtual ski guide - these all made the week as stress free as possible.
The meals we enjoyed each evening were all you could hope for from someone who was passionate about their cooking. There was careful consideration given to both adult and children's tastes. The choice of accompanying wines was always very approprate and meals were very relaxed affairs - perfect after a long day of skiing.
The accommodation at the lodge was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The rooms were always fresh and welcoming at the end of a days skiing, and the drying facilities had been well thought through.
All in all the main appeal of Chesa Flurina is that the hosts are both passionate about ensuring their guests derive as much pleasure as they do about their time at the lodge.
If you looking for a stress-free way to enjoy all that the resorts of Klosters and Davos have to offer then it is a perfect choice.
