I happened to find this place whilst looking on a swiss B & B website, and after some good communications with the owner (the fact that he spoke and wrote perfect English being a surprise, more on that later) I booked the chalet for me and five pals. We were driving from UK to Milan and needed an overnight stop and this was very close to our route.
Having stayed in an Etap hotel the previous night (budget was tight) to find this gem, nestled in the valley, was a sight for sore eyes.
Warmly greeted by Simon and Julia, who indeed actually were Brit's themselves (although Simon has Swiss parentage allowing him to have such a wonderful home in the valley).
The Chalet is fantastic. The bulk of the rooms were en-suite and, for us, had been arranged as twin rooms, just as requested.
We had room enough to park our four cars in the front of the chalet and the chalet itself is homely and spacious.
The property is arranged over three floors. The owners living on the ground floor, with an open plan dining area and lounge on the 2nd floor for guests. Bedrooms are on the third floor.
The Dining area and lounge both lead to terraces/ patio areas allowing for alfresco drinks before dinner.
As we had only B & B accommodation, we only had the opportunity to sample the vast continental style breakfast laid out in the morning.
Needless to say, it was lovely. Fresh bread, cereal, yoghurt, croissant, coffee, Orange juice and eggs of your choice. And it was the best soft boiled egg I'd personally had EVER!
This truly is a great place. Superbly located for walking or cycling in the valley and in winter Simon runs a minibus for guests to the cable cars locally, as well as ski instruction.
The price was very reasonable at 70CHF per person per night.
I would heartily reccomend this place to anyone without hesitation and if ever travelling close by again, will ensure my trip involves another stop at Chesa Flurina.
