Travelled for 7 nights with my family, kids age 8 and 3, for 7 nights, was very good, stayed on B&B basis, breakfast was very good, not the coffee though you have all kinds of coffee to be served as part of the meal (they really try with the coffee but should use other kinds of coffee). Liked the location very much, titisee is beautiful and located close to many attractions and sightseeings, as well as switzweland - the rhein falls.
pool is nice but we preferred travelling, they accept credit cards, room was cleaned twice a day, and the hotel is clean and tidy. Ambiance is very good, with a unique terrace to spend a tranquilitte moment.
We are alreay missing and think of coming back for a short visit from Israel again.

The hotel is very nice, facing the small beautiful lake of Titisee. The staff is very friendly and helpful. the position is in the middle of the black forest in a touristic town.
The spa amenities are ok.

We decided to spend a long weekend in the end of May 2010 in the Treschers Hotel. Location is nice on the Titisee, the back of the hotel is overlooking the tourist mile of the city. In the morning this short tourist street was empty, so it was kind of romantic to watch it. Later during the day we were anyhow absent, so the tourists didn't bother us. We had one of the rooms in the back, since the lake view was definitively NOT worth the money, as we will discuss below. The room was on the corner, spacious and clean. So no comment on this.

Now the restaurant and the food. Our table was in one of the side dining rooms overlooking the lake (nice). However, the temperature in the room was always above 30°C, so the sweating, was despite lite clothing, inevitable. Annoying. The waiter couldn't change our table, when we wanted him to do it.... Interesting. So we had to do this sauna thing every evening. Since we booked halfboard, we had a fix dinner menu. Which we eventually acknowledged as a mistake. The quality of the food was disastrous for the money we were paying for the whole stay (1000€ for 3 days). The meals were partially tasteless, cold, dried out (as if they were left to stand for a while). The bottom-line is reached when the hotel food is below our business cantine level, and this was definitively the case. The food really needs severe improvement.

Breakfast was not bad, but also not rich for a German hotel of 200€/day per person. The coffee was terrible. However, the buffets were fast filled by the staff, so at least waiting lines were not the problem.

In conclusion, the hotel surely abuses its location to sell the rooms with this horrendous prices. There are cheaper and probably nicer hotels in the vicinity, away from the tourist mile. Next time we will definitively avoid the Treschers Hotel.
