I only had one night to spend in Tübingen, so I decided to stay in the grand suite at the Hotel Krone. What a surprise! The spacious living room had a nice view overlooking the busy town center. The bedroom was perfectly quiet. The bathroom was modern. I can't find a thing to complain about. Staff were just fine. The hotel's location is perfect- very central, and quite near a beautiful park. The outdoor cafe was a nice place for a late afternoon drink, and the hotel restaurant was expensive but enjoyable- especially when sitting outdoors. There are only a few parking places, but the lot was nearly empty during my visit. I have to recommend this place- and specifically the grand suite should you want to pamper yourself.

Stayed a few nights in this hotel and overall it was simply an average hotel. Don't expect anything 4-star, you will be disappointed. Let's go through it point by point:

Location: as everyone before me said, the location is excellent; however located on a busy intersection, so you may hear a lot of traffic noise. Wasn't a real issue for me, though. Noise was not that bad.

Room: the interior in the whole hotel is probably 30-40 years old and in dire need of a renovation (carpeting, bathroom tiles are 60's - 70's style). Rooms just have this old smell and feeling.

Breakfast: was included in the price and I really could not complain at all. Actually, it was one of the better hotel breakfasts I've had in Europe. Decent selection of meats and cheeses, really fresh bread and rolls - so breakfast was definitely a plus for me.

Staff: overall my interaction was friendly, but somewhat guarded. Couldn't help feeling that they were not very happy working there, but that's speculation.

Wi-Fi: 9EUR/24 hours; service was spotty and occasionally really slow. Skyping was impossible.

No fitness facility whatsoever - a big minus. However, nice jogging trails right around the corner.

Overall, as I said before, an average hotel and for Tuebingen definitely on the higher end price-wise. I think they carry the 4-stars only because they have room service (they own a restaurant next door) - for me it's a clear 3* hotel.

Last week, I stayed in Hotel Krone, Tubingen city. I really like the location i.e. near very nice flowing river, lots of historical buildings i.e. castle etc. good variety of foods i.e. italian etc make it best place to live. Also, the interiors are resembling to German historical things. I recommed other to have this experience.

What a disgrace ! Price/quality ratio: a disaster. Room : small and rubbish. Bathroom: not properly cleaned. Food :lower than average for breakfast. (i.e. Orange Juice from discount shops, dog under the table..)On top of that : staff is rude and clearly unprofessional : we seemed to disturb their quietness only by having booked there. Had a little chat with the manager depicting all issues : no coherent response but condescending & hostile behaviour. Two chinese persons were also complaining. We cannot blame them. A pity as it is a real chance for Management to improve.The apprentice lady at the reception desk did her best but was overwhelmed. As a practical case, should be taught to Hotel Management Schools. Never again!
