I would use the word 'stark' to describe this hotel. However, it is close to Lake Constance and we did have an enjoyable walk in the area. Rooms are are air conditioned which was good for us as it was very warm the evening we stayed. No washcloths so was glad I had packed one. Bathroom was very clean but only had a shower.

A simple and plain hotel that was clean and comfortable. It had workstations with free Internet access in the lobby. The room was sparse with modern wooden furniture. I liked the simplicity of it.

Plenty of parking at the hotel's garage, but you have to pay to exit so the front desk recommended we don't drive in town to avoid the exit fees. So for dinner we walked to a great steak restaurant that was nearby.

I will definately stay here again.

We spent 4 days in IBIS Konstanz and the service level was disappointing even for an IBIS standard. The hotel rooms are modern, clean and comfortable, its location is about 15 min. walk from the city centre, which is not bad on a sunny day. However, the service provided is almost non-existent: (1) it took us 2 days to get the laundry plastic bags - when they finally arrived we found out that same-day laundry service was not available; (2). TV channels in English were not available due to a storm occurred few days before; (3) Bar servives was not available sunday afternoon - just one staff in the reception. It took me almost one hour to by a bottle of mineral water ! When we complained during the check-out, it was explained that the hotel was facing staff shortage and that I should write a letter to the manager. I am quite sure that there are better hotel options in Konstanz.
