“Away from the crowds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2010

Set in lovely grounds in a quiet location, this hotel is handy for town which is a very short drive or 15 to 20 minute walk away. We had a small, ground floor double room which was totally adequate but could benefit from improved lighting – only sheer curtains at window but external shutters – good, bright bathroom. The poolside bar & restaurant prices are very high but this is St Tropez. Did not have breakfast or dinner there so cannot comment although dining room looked very pleasant. Staff OK. Would I go back? Probably, but off season for the more realistic price and fewer crowds in town.

“Gorgeous hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2010

Myself and my partner stayed here in Aug 09, lovely hotel, amazing pool and jacuzzi and lovely food/ drinks. We stayed in one of the older rooms which were very 'shabby' chic but were very clean and also had a little courtyard outside. At night they light lots of candles and have them all round the pool for diners, very romantic ! You would need a car if you are planning on going into St Tropez as it would be abit of a walk.
Overall a great place to stay, I would recommend this to friends/ family and we will be staying here again in the future.

“The absolute best hotel we stayed in during our honeymoon. A combination B&B and chic, boutique hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2009

I found this hotel through TripAdvisor and honestly it was the best hotel we stayed in during our three week honeymoon in France. Jac was unbelievably helpful, even arranging a cab for us when we arrived via the ferry. We had the best room in the entire hotel (hey we were on our honeymoon) and the treatment and accommodations were amazing. This is the ONLY place I will stay in when we come back. It's about less than a mile from the heart of St. Tropez which is fantastic because you are tucked away and can just relax or walk into the downtown to be around all the people. We prefer being tucked away!

“Very nice hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2009

Les Capucines was a very nice hotel just outside of St. Tropez. It had a beautiful pool and a stunning view of the water. The hotel was very clean and they offered parking which was great! The grounds were beautiful. Would recommend it to friends.

“Beautiful hotel just outside St-Tropez”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2008

Les Capucines is a stunningly beautiful, family-run hotel just outside St. Tropez. And because it's just outside St. Tropez, it's best if you have a car or a bike, or are willing to take a taxi into town; it's too long to walk (about a five minute drive by car though).

If you have a way to get into town, the location of Les Capucines actually becomes a huge advantage. It's situated on a hilltop overlooking the harbor of St. Tropez. The hotel is comprised of the easily accessible reception desk, several small buildings full of rooms, and a beautiful terrace/deck on which you'll find a pool, a hot tub, about a dozen lounge chairs with umbrellas and tables, an excellently-manicured garden, and a few out-of-the-way, secluded lounge chairs. Our room was the perfect size -- big double bed, plenty of room to walk/sit around the bed, and a nice bathroom with bath and shower. Toiletries are provided, and are of good quality.

What really makes Les Capucines stand out, though, is the service. The reception/concierge/whatever is extremely helpful and speaks English quite well. He recommended several places to eat dinner, directed us to the main parking lot in Cannes, and even gave us great directions to a beach near St. Tropez where creeks run into the ocean, populated mostly by locals.

Breakfast was not included, but was reasonable (around 10-12 euros per person) and quite good. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available on the terrace, which is a good thing since you may find yourself not wanting to leave the hotel, which is perhaps the most relaxing place I've ever been.

Rates change with the season, but we (my girlfriend and I) stayed there in late May/early June for 100 euros per night.

In short, if you have a car/bike or are willing to take a taxi into town, Les Capucines is an absolutely perfect place to stay in St. Tropez. Its service is superb, and it is simply one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

  • Liked — The excellent service and the beautiful terrace
  • Disliked — Nothing, actually
