We stayed here for one night in Sept-09. Very good value, 70 euro and the parking was around 10 euro per night around the corner in a multi-story car park. The room was smallish and we had a view over the port outside. The room alos had a flat screen tv with satellite (Canal Plus).

We did not have breakfast (an extra 10 euro or so), rather we ate in a small boulanerie in the old part of the town. The beds are not great to be honest, a bit lumpy for me.

This is an adequate 2 star hotel that offers good value in the centre of this lovely sea side town.

“Very Friendly Hotel on the Quay”

Travelling through the area on a motorcycle tour originally heading for La Rochelle we were recommended Sable D'Olonne as an alternative.

Sable D'Olonne, famous as the start and finish of the Vendee globe yacht race, has a large sandy beach that is within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel itself overlooks the working port.

We arrived (7 people on 5 motorcycles) and were warmly welcomed at short notice by the staff at Hotel Angleterre. Rooms were well equipped and we'd recommend asking for a view of the quayside. The Motorcycles went into the Hotel's secure parking in the next block.

We had standard breakfast in hotel and a memorable dinner in Le Dauphin restaurant attached to the hotel, I'd recommend the fruits des mer.

Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.

Prices range from 70-140 euros for a double room depending on season.
