We chose this hotel based on the reviews published on Booking.com. These in general gave a much better impression of the hotel than I think is justified. Indeed I wonder whether we were staying at the same hotel as many of the contributors to TripAdvisor, who also seem to score this hotel well.

The whole place looked rather tired. The room was quite small, and smelt rather musty. There were even cobwebs under the small desk/table. The toilet/shower was separated from the main body of the room by a curtain rather than a proper door. This is just about acceptable for a shower, but for a loo? The reception staff appeared to speak very little English. Adequate for an overnight stay but over-priced considering the overall standard of the accommodation.

Asked owner/manager about a taxi
"what do you want it for?"
"we want to see the town and check for reataurants"
He declined - "there is a reataurant just 10 minutes walk away."
Asked same question again minutes later - same answer
Repeated question. He said this is a small town and no taxis; they have to come from afar, may not come in time or may not come at all
On checking the town later on foot, the place is massive and it is inconceivable that there is not even one taxi company in Beauvais

We were left believing that he did not want us out looking for an alternative place to stay

Defininitely we would not have booked if we had first read some of the previous reviews. Definitely we will not stay there again

Had I taken any notice of the last review we would have stayed elsewhere. As it was we decided that one person with an axe to grind wasn't too representative.

We arrived about 3.30pm and as we pulled onto the parking spaces at the front of the hotel we were met by the manager, smiling and asking if he could help with our cases.

After checking into our room I had a quick look round to make sure that there were no hidden problems I could complain about in two months... damn! Not one. Everything was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly.

Breakfast was a bit pricey but we couldn't be bothered to walk down to the town to save a few pence. Although not a full English, it was filling and that suited us just fine.

The wifi was free and seemed pretty speedy so we were able to keep in touch with home and potential eBay auctions!!

Having travelled without partner to paris with 3 teenage girls, on the last day i had booked a family room in this hotel so as we could be close airport for next morning.
On arrival at 12 miday the hotel was locked up, with no answer from phone, the taxi driver from paris waited for 45 min and when still no answer and door locked he drove us to a hotel which was open.
The hotel says 24 hour and recption open till 10.30pm, however this was not the case.
I phoned numerous times that evening to cancel and get my fee back and when i finally got an answer, the man was rude saying thats not my problem and hung up on me.
He would not refund my money,as I had said 6 pm on my booking form, and its not his problem.
However, i booked this through hotel.com and they also say on their site : Reception desk open from 7am to 11pm. since my return I have emailed both this hotel and hotel.com with no satisfaction. there was no sign in the door indicating return time, the phone was not diverted to a person and no answer machine. They will not make a refund. Therefore be aware, there may not be anyone at this hotel on arrival, with very little french, no car, raining and cold and windy also responsible for 3 teenage girls this was no fun and I do not reccomend anyone to share the same experience. I am grateful to the kind taxi man who remained with me and then sorted rooms at the Inter Hotel.
