We picked this hotel due to its location next to the Clotes ski lift, and the fact you can ski to your door. We checked the few reviews we could find online and everything seemed to look ok.
The location was definately the best thing about this hotel. My room was an 80's throw back, which i would not have minded if it had been clean. The truth is the curtains were mouldy, the walls and ceilings in the bathroom were mouldy and the room generally needed some tlc, for example, the window shutters would conatantly bang against the window at night. When this was brought to the attention of staff we were told 'it happens'. I'm sure if they were fixed and could be fastened back then it wouldnt happen!! The other room was a much more modern style and had obviuosly been recently refurbished, however, stank of stale cigerette smoke.
As for the food, I had high hopes for it. I love Italian food! Obviously i shouldn't have been so excited. There was pasta galore, which sounds typical of Italy, but I doubt the watery version is a true refelction of Italian culture. The food would have been nice if they didn't make the smallest ingredients stretch to feed a room full of people. For example, lasagne, i could taste pasta and cheese sause but failed to find the filling! In general the food wasn't great, but we didn't starve. But i do resent eating food because you feel you have to, because you have already paid for it.
To summarize, the hotel is in an excellent location and very conveinient, but the food is far from good and the rooms are in need of some tlc. i personally would not go back, but i would stay in the hotel down the road.
