“Great for Families”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2010

We stayed at the Bellariva with our 2 teenagers. We used it as a base for exploring the lake area and the lower Dolomites. The hotel seems to have 2 parts--the regular hotel rooms and apartments in a building right across the road. We stayed in an apartment, which was perfect for our family. There was a bedroom, kitchen with a fridge and a stove (no microwave), bathroom with washing machine, living room with TV and sofa, and a corner of the living room with bunk beds. The apartment was basic, but functional. There was a closet in the bedroom and a dresser in the living room. There was a balcony with table and chairs, clothes line, and a fabulous view of the lake, mountains and huge trees. The bedroom had the same view, and it was heavenly to wake up to this every morning. My main criticism of the room was the cheap furniture--the drawer pulls actually came off in my hand. There is also no elevator, and you have to walk up and carry your luggage. We were 2 floors up. This was not a problem for us, but it might be for some people.

The best part of the hotel is its location--right on a lovely (public) beach on the lake. Right next door were places to rent bicycles and kayaks. The walk to the center of town is about 10 minutes. Breakfast was basic but adequate.

The hotel is not luxurious, but it was great for our family.

“Decent, ok experience, great value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2008

The Bellariva is a decent hotel and quite close to the water. The staff was quite friendly and I have no major complaints about the service. I was across the street in the "apartments". After finally finding my room (there are no lights on in the hallway!) I found that the size was quite nice and it had a little kitchenette and a washing machine - two great boons for vacationers.

Unfortunately, I was in Riva del Garda on business. As a business hotel, the Bellariva fell a bit flat. The "hotel" didn't feel like a hotel - no real hotel services. There was no iron and ironing board (really not surprising for southern Europe) and no hair dryer (I was quite surprised by that). There was no internet/wireless service and the few television channels were only in Italian (again, not terribly surprising, but business hotels would have a news channel or two in English).

Finally, the bathroom, especially the shower, was VERY small. If you're very big, you may have to leave the shower door open to even be able to move around!

So, if you're in Riva for vacation, the hotel is probably ok. But don't expect too much in the way of amenities.

  • Liked — large room, proximity to the lake
  • Disliked — complete lack of any business amenities

“I lover Hotel Bellariva”

Firstly, the staff of Hotel Bellariva were heartwarming and touched my hearts for being genuinely concerned for me and my contemporaries. When they told my teachers that we were wearing too little winter clothing and that we may fall sick before the competition, it exemplified the genuine care they had for us. In addition they were also generous enough to allow us to use their restaurant for practice. Also, they were so lovely in that they knew that we were students and gave us complimentary desserts whenever we dined at their restaurant. I am also pleased to say that their staff are multi-lingual and had no problems speaking to us in english. I found out they were multi-lingual upon inquiring.

Hotel Bellariva serves scrumptuous food. My favorite would definitely be their Penne Carbonara which is simply heavenly.

In terms of amenities, there is a little playground near the hotel , and hotel bellariva is of extremely close proximity to Lake Garda. I would say it is only next door. In addition the congress and town centre is only of close proximity to the hotel for an obese person like me 15 m,inutes was all it took to take a stroll to town centre.
For the catholics, i understand from my teachers that there is a church nearby as well, the Chiesa Santa Maria Assunta. A few blocks away from the hotel is a supermarket, a gelato store and a clinic. Which people like myslef who go to Riva Del garda for competition may need very urgently. All in all, HOtel Bellariva wanted me to go back so much. And I can still rmemeber GIno the owner of the hotel who touched my heart when he personally went to unlock my hotel room when it slammed shut on me leaving my kerys inside.

  • Liked — Everything the panroamic view it gives me, the friendly staff and the delicious food. I had spend four days in italy before going to Riva Del garda so i based my judgement after comparig with rome and florence.
  • Disliked — there is no lift.

“A Fantastic place to stay in Riva”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2007

I had been on this site before I wnet to Riva for my cousin's wedding and could not find any reviews of the hotel that we were staying at.
So I felt I should let people in on this Lovely Hotel.

Hotel Bellariva is situated about 200 metres from Lake Garda and the room we had provided us with beautiful views over the lake.
The hotel is extremely clean and the people who work in it are very friendly.
The Breakfast is very filling and continental and the Lunches and dinners that are available at the hotel are varied and reasonably priced.
The rooms are of a good size as are the beds and the bathrooms are very clean.
Overall this hotel is very good value for money.
PS- the hot tub is an added bonus after a long day in the sun.

Myself and my girlfriend are hopefully coming back to the region nex year and will be staying in the same hotel.
Enough said

  • Liked — The friendly attitude of the staff
  • Disliked — bigger hot tub
