Firstly let me say that this hotel is not close to the beach and in Positano that means that it is up a very steep hill and the beach is accessed by foot via many stairs. However there is a very inexpensive bus (.40c) that runs frequently past the hotel and does a loop of the town so it is a great way to see and access everything.
The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful despite the fact that we arrived very late (after 11:00 PM). The car park for the hotel is tiny and the owner of the hotel parks the cars and gives you access to the vehicle when you ask for it. This was not a problem because the last thing we wanted to do in Positano was drive. The road are very narrow, very steep and there is virtually no parking. So plan to walk or take the bus.
The room we had was delightful, the bed was the usual Italian firm but comfortable and long enough for my tall husband. The view from this high up in the town is breathtaking, imagine waking up to that after a peaceful nights sleep. The bathroom was perfectly adequate as long as you didn't plan for luxury and at these prices you shouldn't plan for luxury! Compared to many other hotels in town this hotel very reasonably priced and you should adjust your expectations likewise.
Breakfast was very good and available early in the morning so we didn't need to waste any time. The coffee was great and overlooked the ocean so we enjoyed a second cup while making our plans for the day.
Positano its self is delightful, although full of tourists. I suggest you take the time to explore a little. Take the bus to Nocelle which is further up the hill, have lunch in the great little restaurant in the piazza there, then walk back down to the main road. From here you have two choices, go the the beach with the Italians away from all the tourists or take the bus back into town. A cheap day out in a perfect part of Italy.
