“A wonderful weekend in a great little hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

Firstly let me say that this hotel is not close to the beach and in Positano that means that it is up a very steep hill and the beach is accessed by foot via many stairs. However there is a very inexpensive bus (.40c) that runs frequently past the hotel and does a loop of the town so it is a great way to see and access everything.

The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful despite the fact that we arrived very late (after 11:00 PM). The car park for the hotel is tiny and the owner of the hotel parks the cars and gives you access to the vehicle when you ask for it. This was not a problem because the last thing we wanted to do in Positano was drive. The road are very narrow, very steep and there is virtually no parking. So plan to walk or take the bus.

The room we had was delightful, the bed was the usual Italian firm but comfortable and long enough for my tall husband. The view from this high up in the town is breathtaking, imagine waking up to that after a peaceful nights sleep. The bathroom was perfectly adequate as long as you didn't plan for luxury and at these prices you shouldn't plan for luxury! Compared to many other hotels in town this hotel very reasonably priced and you should adjust your expectations likewise.

Breakfast was very good and available early in the morning so we didn't need to waste any time. The coffee was great and overlooked the ocean so we enjoyed a second cup while making our plans for the day.

Positano its self is delightful, although full of tourists. I suggest you take the time to explore a little. Take the bus to Nocelle which is further up the hill, have lunch in the great little restaurant in the piazza there, then walk back down to the main road. From here you have two choices, go the the beach with the Italians away from all the tourists or take the bus back into town. A cheap day out in a perfect part of Italy.

Room Tip: It looked like all the rooms had a great view and either a terrace or a balcony.

“They nickel and ime you for everything!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

This is a family run business and they are not friendly at all! They stated it was a 10 minute walk to the beach.. it is 500 steps to the beach! It costs 15 euros to park the car and 10 euroes per night if you want the air conditioner! It was very hot and it as needed, so we paid. The rooms were very basic and small. The bathrooom had a small shower and no place to put your toilitries (no vanity). I would not recommended this hotel to my enemy!

“Friendly family run hotel that doesnt cost the earth.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2011

Friendly family run hotel, just back after stayed three nights. All rooms had air con, were clean and tidy and have either a balcony or terrace with a sea view. Breakfast room upstairs also overlooks the sea, very light and airy feeling. Basic European style breakfast, cereals, juices, toast, yogurt, tea/coffee was slightly disappointing but adequate for our needs.

Car parking is available, make sure you let them know before you travel, 15 euros a day, no immediate parking nearby so a must if you bring a car. Don't forget to ask for the cash rate if booking directly with the hotel.

Also no pool at this hotel, so you'll have to hit the beach instead.

“Pristine clean, peaceful, convenient location. However...”

Our stay was very nice. The hotel is very clean, staff is pleasant and the setting is very peaceful. The view is spectacular and I continue to remember the lovely views from our room. We were right across from the bus stop, walking distance to a couple of restaurants and across street was a laundry mat and a couple of shops.

The bathroom vanity is so small, there is hardly enough room for your toothpaste & brush. They supply 1 plastic cup. The shower was very large and ncie. No clock/radio in the room. The TV only has Italian Speaking Channels - Not even 1 news channel!

For the price the hotel is great. However, we had gone to the lobby one morning at 7:40 one morning prior to the 8:00 breakfast and went to the lobby to use our laptop to check email. We had asked for 2 coffees while we we on our computers and waited for breakfast buffet to be ready at 8:00. Surprisingly, they charged us an additional 4 Euros ($6 U.S.) for the coffee on our check out invoice! They weren't included because we were 20 minutes early! Also, they charged us 1 Euro ($1.50) for each glass of ice to have cocktails in our room!

The door to the room and the bathroom door squeak very loudly. They need WD-40 there! The breakfast was basic - cereal, yogurt, coffee, juices, assorted sweet rolls, toast but fine for us. The view from the lobby and breakfast room were spectacular. Family run business, very pleasant people. Again, for the price, the place is great!

“Amazing views”

I stayed at this small Hotel in September 2010 and it was excellent.

Personal service by the owners was exceptional.

Rooms were very clean and we had a fabulous terrace overlooking Positano, the views were amazing.

Breakfast was extremely delicious and staff were very helpful in advising of good restaurants etc.

You can also walk to the beach from this Hotel even though it is 500 steps down. We caught the local bus from Sorrento and walked from the bus stop to this Hotel thankfully it was all downhill.

Can thoroughly reccommend this Hotel for all age groups, very cosy and not too big.
