In theory it ticks all the boxes but there is no atmosphere and the staff are 'just doing their job' - we just didn't feel welcome. The room was airconditioned and had a nice view - but was as small as they could get away with. Dinner was dull and all they had for vegetarians was omelette or a salad (a tomato and a few slices of cheese). The pool was OK but freezing cold on even hot days, plastic loungers and no service - few guests used it.

My car was hit twice while parked outside and Le Grazie itself is a bit scruffy - not a resort and only a few restaurants. It's really where sailing enthusiasts go for maintenance or supplies.

So all in all it's OK but not somewhere I would make any effort to go again and expensive for what it is. It would suit people who enjoy sailing or a very quiet holiday but there's nowhere to sit and relax!. Easy to get to Cinque Terre though and La Spezia and good public transport..

Booked a week in this hotel in early July. Arrived in our brand new car down a double parked cul-de-sac, almost touching door mirrors. This street is hidden by the palm trees in the aerial photo. You have to pay to park on the street! There was a chance I could park in a garage one kilometer away-even more costly and inconvenient. No help was offered with luggage and anyway I had to reverse some distance to allow a 4X4 who had turned round at the end of the road. A totally exasperating start after a long drive. We walked about a 100meters to the frosty reception and decided there and then that this scruffy little resort was not what we had been led to expect by the Michelin guide. Despite losing 210Euros as a "fine" for walking away, one month later we know we would have been miserable there. The photos bear little resemblance to reality Avoid.
We escaped to a resort down the coast to Forte dei Marmi to a hotel we visited a decade ago, The Hermitage. Another total disaster. Walked away after wasting over 400 Euros for one night-broken air-conditioning and the foulest meal we've ever had in Italy.
Abandoned the coast never to return. Went to our favourite spot on Como instead.

In May we stayed a week in this hotel. Our room was nice and clean. The hotel is well maintained. The restaurant only offers set menu, but it was good. The restaurant staffs were very friendly. Hotel has a pool, but it was not often used by the hotel quests when we were there. The setting of this hotel is on a beautiful bay in the village Le Grazie, nice and quiet. From this hotel we visited the Cinque Terre, Portovenere, La Spezia, Lerici and even Lucca (about 90km). We think Hotel Della Baia is a very good 3 star hotel.
