“Wonderful view”

We spent some days in Ca´Ligure and really enjoyed it. Especially we loved the garden, the pool-area and our private spacious terrace with its wonderful view over the mountains, the town Loano and the sea.
For dinner we had two nice trattorias in the village within walking distance. Besides the owner recommendes interesting restaurants in the surroundings. Sometimes they were a little bit difficult to find, but they had great food, reasonable prices and a very special atmosphere.
Last but not least Ca´Ligure is a convenient starting point for daily trips to Cinque Terre, Portofino, Nice, Monaco...

We definitely will come back.

“Trip of a lifetime”

We stayed in Ca Ligure for a week after a very stressful summer season working in Spain. We found the website on the internet and the photos did the hotel justice. It was easy to find after a long drive from Northern Spain. We were made to feel very welcome by the family running the hotel. Their daughter Stefanie speaks several languages and was very helpful with suggestions as to where to eat and what interesting places we could visit. It was peaceful and quiet.

We wanted to stay in the area because my parents visited the Italian Riviera in the 50s and named me after a little village nearby called Noli. Stefanie´s father very kindly found out the local history about a famous character from Noli for me.

The hotel is modern, clean and very efficiently run. Our rooms were spacious, immaculate, simply furnished, with great balconies and views over the sea. The bathrooms were clean and modern and the beds very comfortable.

The cost of the holiday was so reasonable, we decided to stay in a hotel instead of renting an apartment for 3 people. Breakfast was a plentiful buffet and delicious. The only thing I could criticise is the tea! Only the English can make good tea!

We loved our holiday and very much hope to go back there.
Thank you to Stefanie and her family.

  • Liked — attractive, clean and everything worked
  • Disliked — you needed a car to get to the beach or longish walk down a very steep hill.

The Hotel was recommended by Friends. At first: the best Tip that we ever heard. The Breakfast is simply the best that we found in Italy. Including the Price is a visit to the Beach. The Swimming Pool is very clean and the Garden is in very good condition. A snag, Cup of cappucino or what ever you want is allways available by friendly Personal. We visit this nice Place next Year, for shure

“Stay out”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2006

This hotel is truely terrible. My husband and I stayed there the night of September 23. First the hotel is very difficult to find. Once it is found driving in or out of the parking lot is a nightmare. There are no restaurants in the town so one must travel down to the town of Savona, where the food is not that good.

There is no elevator and the hotel is a maze of stairs and turning hallways. The rooms are ugly with beds that feel like boards with minimal furniture. The balcony we had did provide a view of the bay but that in no way could compensate for the disastrous room. The bathroom was clean. We were provided with two towels that not only were scratchy but one could see through also provided was one bar of soap. The room lighting consisted of one overhead light that when on attracted bugs, the other lights on the bed tables provided no light and one light bulb was burned out.

At 6 euros each we chose not to stay for breakfast just getting through the night at this chamber of horrors was enough for us.

“Cá Ligure -”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2006

We stayed 1 1/2 weeks at Cá Ligure in Ranzi, Pietra Ligure. The small hotel was recommended to us by friends.

Cá Ligure is the most likable place to enjoy your holiday. The cosy hotel is located in a 300-year-old house, our room had a wonderful and big balcony from which we could see the sea.
The hosts, the Italian-German Rembado-family, and their staff do really make you feel at home. Not to forget their friendly German Shepard called Biltz, who takes care about the owners and their guests. They run the hotel for over 30 years and know really every spot of the region.

They serve a great breakfast buffet - I mean really great, with a variety of bread (not only the Italian white bread), eggs, home made fruit salad, muesli etc. - and also offer light meals (pasta, gnocchi...) for lunch. In the evennings you can just walk 5 minutes to an excellent pizzeria, or go for one of the various agritourismo-restauranst more in the back country and taste the Ligurian cuisine.

There is a pool in the green hotel garden. We preferred to stay there, because we found the beach of Pietra Ligure quite crowded. But the hotel offers also reservated chairs and umbrellas at the beach.

The region offers some nice oppertunities for walking along the cost and in the mountains, e.g. we walked up to Monte Carmo (1.350m) and also the old Roman street from Albenga to Alassio.

After all: A great holiday with the right mixture of relaxing in the sun and discovering the Ligurian Riviera.
