We stayed here on our family holiday in october.the place is beautiful!!! this is a 13th century building refurbished with all modern comforts & amenities and yet you feel that time stood still.. surrounded by vineyards,the place is so tranquil..
we enjoyed the lovely teas in the balconies of our rooms soaking in the morning sun & the breathtaking views!! cherished the time @locanda palazzone

My husband and I stayed 2 nights this October on our way from Rome to Montalcino---we were flying in from overseas and wanted a stopping place relatively nearby Rome (Locanda is about 1-1/2 hours from Rome right near the A1). The villa has a wonderful reception room with high beamed ceilings and a relatively small number of rooms, including rooms to accomodate up to 4 people. We stayed in the family suite, which is 2 levels and provide wonderful views from a small stone terrace of the countryside and Orvieto (about 5 minutes away). The rooms have chic furnishings and clean light wood floors. The view from the pool is also very nice. Our stay was very relaxed. Ludovico and his son were wonderful hosts, not intrusive but very friendly and accomodating. Breakfast is included and dinner available with reservation. We highly recommend Locanda.

A man of impeccable taste and vision, Lodovico has brilliantly restored this 13th c. mansion, surrounded by vineyards, overlooking Orvieto. The addition of modern conveniences, including a beautiful pool, an inspired staircase and an elevator, are extremely well done and the attention to details for the guest experience is impressive. Lodovico warmly welcome us to his "home", and we enjoyed a delightful visit with him, and his delicious wines, before a wonderful dinner.

Without a doubt Locanda Palazzone was the highlight of our very recent Tuscan/Umbrian holiday. Its perfect hillside setting, contemporary design, chic rooms with attention to designer details, award winning wines and most of all Lodovico and his wonderful team.

We loved the closeness to Orvieto (10 min by car), the peaceful setting with the perfect pool (the largest I have ever seen) for relaxing in the afternoons and the stylishly appointed, spacious rooms (we prefer modern design to frilly florals!).

Most of all though - the personal recommendations, hospitaly & warmth of the owner, his son Nicolo, their talented chef (oh the exquisite dinner on the terrace!) and their very special assistant Babu - made our trip into a most wonderful and unforgettable experience.
For anyone planning a trip - make sure to stay for 3-4 days - as it is the perfect place to explore the region from. We are hoping to go back as soon as we can.
