“Very Nice Hotel in a Beautiful Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We found the tiny town of Norcia charming, and we loved visiting every corner. Palazzo Seneca was delightful. We had a wonderful room overlooking the valley where we enjoyed relaxing. It was definitely off season, and there were very few guests. There was a pleasant breakfast, although it doesn't vary, at least in mid-November.

We found the staff to be very helpful. The breakfast staff was always pleasant and will to bring anything to the table. We enjoyed having a glass of wine in the afternoon out on the terrace and they were very accommodating.

We had dinner in Vespasia Restaurant one night, and I am hoping it was an off-night as it was a Monday. There were only three tables of guests (6 of us), and yet the risotto was badly overcooked and mushy. I also ordered the roasted lamb shank, thinking it would have been braised and then finished in the oven. This was not the case - it was actually just roasted, and impossible to cut. The meat stuck to the bone, and at one point as I was struggling with it, it went skittering across the table! Our other choices were fine, but not of the quality we expected. We did enjoy dinner at Trattoria dal Francese, just off the Piazza. We also enjoyed the Museo Civico in the Castellina. It is a small museum, but very interesting.

“Lovely Vacation at a Lovely Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

I’m aware one must be caution when reading a review where all seems to be at the top level with no comments of a kind, but the Palazzo Senec did earn the below review for its excellent hospitality and service.
We are two couples at our mid 40’s, stayed at the hotel for two nights 9-11Dec11. We enjoyed our stay very much, find the hotel, staff and atmosphere most pleasant and of great value and joy. My friend and I also attended the cooking class with Chef Flavio Faedi and enjoyed it very much. The restaurant is also of good value and staff are very friendly and profession to provide advice of the tours around the city. All together we found our vacation at the Palazzo Seneca a most enjoyable. We highly recommend.

“A beautiful surprise”

I thought that i knew Italy pretty well, especially as i am Italian, but when it comes to finding the "best" hidden places in the country , i put myself in the hands of Request Italy.

On the latest trip they really came up with an amazing spot: Norcia. This small town is hidden in the Sibilline hills in Umbria and has the most wonderful hotel: Palazzo Seneca. This is a Relais Chateaux hotel and has all the charm and beauty which one could possibly ask for.RI was able to get me an upgrade and between my room and the 5 o' clock tea served in the study , i was able to get destressed almost overnight. The food and the restaurant was wonderful and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more ,professional. I 'm already looking forward to' my next trip!

“Excellent is not enough!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

I could not expect anything better. Loved every single detail and all kind of services!! The hotel itself is beautiful, perfectly maintained, extremely clean, beautifully furnished (all the rooms are different and have their own character!!!)....it has everything you might need: spa, relax room, garden, couches everywhere, a nice library...and an excellent restaurant. The food served for dinner belongs to the tradition, but it is revised in a modern and trendy key. All the products come from the Norcia area, from local producers, relatives who own bakery, butchers...
Their hospitality goes above and beyond any possible limit: you ask for something and you get it all! They know how to satisfy every single need and desire!!! Serena, at the front desk, is super kind and loves to share her knowledge and love of the area!!!
In a few words: PALAZZO SENECA is the place where you want to go and to be!!!

Room Tip: There are 2 rooms with a picturesque view on the Norcia valley!!!! But all the rooms are fantastic...
