We found the tiny town of Norcia charming, and we loved visiting every corner. Palazzo Seneca was delightful. We had a wonderful room overlooking the valley where we enjoyed relaxing. It was definitely off season, and there were very few guests. There was a pleasant breakfast, although it doesn't vary, at least in mid-November.
We found the staff to be very helpful. The breakfast staff was always pleasant and will to bring anything to the table. We enjoyed having a glass of wine in the afternoon out on the terrace and they were very accommodating.
We had dinner in Vespasia Restaurant one night, and I am hoping it was an off-night as it was a Monday. There were only three tables of guests (6 of us), and yet the risotto was badly overcooked and mushy. I also ordered the roasted lamb shank, thinking it would have been braised and then finished in the oven. This was not the case - it was actually just roasted, and impossible to cut. The meat stuck to the bone, and at one point as I was struggling with it, it went skittering across the table! Our other choices were fine, but not of the quality we expected. We did enjoy dinner at Trattoria dal Francese, just off the Piazza. We also enjoyed the Museo Civico in the Castellina. It is a small museum, but very interesting.
