“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2008

We are a middle aged couple from New Zealand that visited Italy and Sicily for the first time and reserved a room at the Petit from good reviews we had seen on Tripadvisor. We stayed for a night so we could ferry to Lipari for a day trip the next day. It was very fresh with bright colours , cool tiles and some really jazzie art. The room was spotless and has everything we needed. Breakfast was one of the best we experienced on our 6 week holiday around Italy , Sicily and Malta. The staff were friendly and helpful re local info and all the shops and restaurants are all easy walks from the front door. The harbour and ferries are just a few steps away. We would have loved to have stayed a lot longer if we had had the time, and if we get the chance to return we know where we will book our accommodation.

“A unique and interesting hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2008

We paused in Milazzo for the night, before taking the ferries the next day --- and I fell in love with this hotel. It was beautiful, with gorgeous tile floors, and everything completely ecological not to mention a very fresh and expansive and delicious breakfast. When I asked about recommendations for our next stop - Stromboli, the staff recommended places, called for us, set it all up. This was such a find! KG

“Great location, ok hotel and check the parking charges”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2007

Perfectly adequate, but our visit was soured when we returned from an overnight trip to Stromboli, having left our hire car (and keys) with the hotel.

The car had been parked less than 48 hours in the garage, at an agreed rate of 12 Euro/night. The guy that took us to get our car tried to charge us extra, for 2 1/2 days, but backed down quickly when challenged by my Italian partner who had already spoken to the receptionist to clarify the charges. Both of us thought he was trying to pull a fast one and overcharge us.

This petty dishonesty was a shame as the hotel was ok and the location ideal for the ferry. The rooms are basic but clean, though the "bio" credentials we thought were a little tenous... an in-room ioniser does not a bio hotel make! Indeed, I would have welcomed some artificial preservative on the fruit in our room which was decidely past its sell by date.

English is not a strongpoint at this hotel (and indeed at many in Italy) so take a phrasebook.

On a more general point , much as we tried to like Milazzo for the evening we were there, there is little to redeem the place so i would suggest a late evening arrival or catching an afternoon ferry so you don't have to stay there!

“Bravo, Petit Hotel”

The hotel is very centrally located in Milazzo. Across the street is the seaport and transportation to the Aoelian Islands, and a short walk to the downtown area where on Sunday nights the street is closed and everyone just strolls along. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was outstanding. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
I would highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again.

“Charming helpful staff - perfect for port”

I stayed here with my sister, niece and father prior to an early morning aliscafi to Stromboli, having spent quite a while searching on the internet for a nice, well-priced, convenient hotel. The owner was more than helpful and responded to my email immediately offering us the family room (double bed and two single sofa beds (remove cushions and hey presto!)) - plenty of space for the four of us, stylish and with a lovely bathroom. We also ate in the hotel - delicious if not cheap - and the breakfast was also very good. It's right opposite the port and the town centre so couldn't be better placed and is next door to the car rental places so if you're returning a car it's also very handy. We had had difficulty booking tickets over the phone and when i phoned to confirm arrival time and told him this the owner kindly offered to buy them for us before - they were waiting for us when we checked in. My neice also left her cuddly rabbit behind - one phone call and the lovely girl on reception sent it back to her in London. We slept like a log and couldn't fault it. This place is run by professionals - you can't go wrong.
