We booked the apartment through [---]. Although it is advertised as being in Menaggio, it is actually in the village of Nobiallo. Having said that, it was only a 15 min walk to Menaggio and 10 mins to the closest supermarket (en route to Menaggio). So it really doesn't matter too much.

The apartments are right on the lake with a lovely view. There is parking in the hotel beside the complex. At a best guess the complex has 9 or 10 apartments - over 3 floors so it is by no means large or imposing. All apartments appear to have a lake view and due to this is off-road. Ours was lovely, clean and simply fitted out - and dead cheap!!

As self-catering arrangements go, I was fairly impressed. My only complaint was that there is no oven or toaster - so morning toast would be tricky, if not impossible.

The only down side was the fairly ferocious house-frau that looks after the apartments. She speaks German and Italian and barely any english. We spoke neither Italian or German so communication was limited. She was a bit shouty and this did mar our experience. But I feel certain that if you spoke German or Italian thsi would be less of an issue.
