Although the hotel is about one mile just north of the town center, it's easy to find and right ON Lake Como! Hotel Garden was our first stop on a self-drive tour of Italy and we drove directly there after arriving from the states into Milan. It's laidback feel, Friendly staff, Scandinavian-style decor and incredible lake and mountain views were the perfect way to ease us into Italy! Our room (#9) had a balcony overlooking the private beach and adjacent marina. After settling in we headed into town for dinner. We didn't realize that we wouldn't be able to walk (there's no sidewalk and a very narrow tunnel that would be extremely dangerous to walk through), but parking, as far as Italy is concerned, wasn't too hard to find. We headed back to the hotel around 11:00 PM. Unfortunately, no one ever told us that, although you can just walk right into the lobby and bar, the doorway to the stairwell that leads to the guest rooms is locked after 10:00 PM! After about 20 minutes of trying to figure out how we would ever get to our room, we found a secondary entrance on the side of the building with the help of a fellow traveler who overheard our dilemma and came to our rescue! Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious, but it was a bit embarrassing knowing we were the "night owls" that woke all the "early birds" the night before. The rest of our time here was great and I would highly recommend this hotel for the price. Would I come here again? Definitely - but I would be early to bed and early to rise!

From our top floor room and the breakfast room there are spectacular lakeside views of Lake Como. Our room was simple, but spotless, with a modern bathroom. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in the suburb of Nobiallo so is a one kilometre walk along the lakeside to the centre of Menaggio. The breakfasts, including fresh figs, were the best of our trip. Great value for money; we would stay again.

We stayed here for two nights in august 2010. The room was clean, bright with a nice balcony looking out over the lake. The hotel itself was standard, with too thin walls in our opinion! We appreciated the breakfast we were offered and the staff's kindness.

If you are looking for a charming little hotel for a romantic stay, this might not be the best place, but it is definitely an interesting alternative to crowded Menaggio.

Stayed here for 3 night during July 2010, and we were very pleased with our choice of hotel. The location is great, you are the lake side of a quiet road, not the main road down the side of como, and you can hear the lake lapping against the shore at night. When you wake up you will have a gorgeous view across the lake.
Personally we liked the fact that it was a 15 minute walk away from Menaggio as it meant it felt much more relaxed and away from the noice and hum drum of the centre - plus the walk is a great way to walk off the dinner. Nobiallo itself has little to offer although is quaint and peaceful but you can either walk or drive into Menaggio for everything else.
The hotel has its own little beach (not sandy) and a rowing boat you can use for free on the lake.
The rooms dont have air con and are a little dated, although are definitely of good size and with a great view. The breakfast room is much more modern and breakfast itself is very nice plus the rooms have an individual balcony too. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel then you cant go far wrong with this place.
