We had a lovely weekend stay at this hotel. It is beautifully located on the pretty town square and right on the water's edge.
We found the staff pleasant and helpful. Our room gave us views of the square and the lake backed by snow topped mountains. We also enjoyed the views from arched windows of the downstairs cafe and from the pavement tables on either side.
The secure parking is only a couple of minutes walk.
We were lucky that the weather was excellent for the end of October as we manged to get in some excellent hiking and also toured the lake shore villages by ferry. A word of praise to the staff at the tourist office on the square who were very informative and helped us make the best use of our time.
One slight issue. We had a triple room which was actually a double with a fold out camp bed at the foot of the double bed. We did not mind as we only used the room for sleeping and changing. If the weather had been poor it might have been less comfortable as the only public room is the downstairs cafe. Our daughter who is 1.7m (5ft7in) found the camp bed short.
That said we would definitely stay again.
Menaggio is as delightful a place as you can imagine. Unlike some of the lakeside towns the main road runs through a tunnel behind the town thus leaving the shore itself peaceful. The hotel could not be better located nor more pleasantly staffed.

We stayed for a week and were very happy with our accommodation. Our bedrooom was large and very smartly decorated. The ensuite bathroom was also very nice. The staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke good English. The central location beside the lake is ideal. Breakfasts are a bit limited in scope, but that does not seem to be unusual in that area. If you do stay make sure you go up onto the roof-top terrace. It only has tables and chairs, but the views are sublime. Menaggio is a great base. Bellagio and Varenna are obvously very beautiful, but Menaggio is also attractive with a very nice atmosphere. It caters very well for tourists but is not touristy. Also it has better road transport links.

We enjoyed our 3 nt stay at this hotel. We had a front corner room on the first floor above the lobby overlooking the lake. It was in the center of things in Menaggio...busy location but not the busyness you'd find in Bellagio. Within easy walking distance to some good restaurants and the ferry. Breakfast was served in a pretty room overlooking the lake...just rolls, croissants and yogurts,juice and coffee. If I return to Lake Como I would stay at this hotel again.

With Varenna and Bellagio now overrun with way too many tourists (thanks Rick Steves!) the other towns around Lake Como offer a much more relaxing, low-key alternative to stay in at this little bit of paradise.

Our room had a view of both the lake as well as the main town square (only down side to this was the noise during the day but we were usually out and about anyway). The room was well-maintained with adequate bathroom and storage facilities. Air conditioning (it was over 85 degrees during our stay) was also well-maintained. Elevator is small in the Euro tradition but hey, at least it works! There is a wonderful deck on top of the building which, 3 stories up, has a great view of the lake and town.

The hotel takes credit cards for payment but curiously its restaurant doesn't. This is something we noted again and again on our recent trip. There seems to be some sort of evolving issue between hosteliers and the credit card providers (or their banks).

If you're not traveling with your computer and need some internet access the only internet cafe in town is at the youth hostel. But it's not expensive and you can always enjoy a very inexpensive limoncello there.

Very convenient to the ferry as well as the road to Switzerland. Also, the little hop-on/hop-off train stops just right next to the hotel. There is no regular train service to Menaggio, you have to commute to Varenna or Como via ferry to get to a train station.
