Stayed in this hotel in July 2011. I am completely baffled by some reviews about noise. This is a lovely, family- run, quaint little hotel in the mountains. While there is no lake view at this hotel, the mountain view is simply breath-taking and more than makes up for the lack of a lake view. The owners of the hotel clearly take great pride in their family business. The hotel is very well maintained and immaculately clean. The staff are very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The food is very good. We had pizza in Lugano, Como, Menaggio and Lenno and i must say the Pizza in Hotel Merloni was the best we had in Italy! The food is very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to explore Lake Como. The price for B&B is very, very reasonable - a fraction of the price of the hotels on the lake!

We had booked a family room for 4 nights but we stayed only one night. The hotel was so noisy that we hardly slept two hours during the whole first night. You could clearly hear people talking next room. The same goes for the corridor. Walls were like papers. The room was cleaned and sheets were clean. But the condition of the hotel is quite poor. The furniture were old and shubby. The bathroom was not in a perfect condition either. The space for shower was so small that you could not turn around. The air-condition was very noisy as well. The room was very small for a family room. We put our two luggages on the floor because there was no room elsewehere. Then, you could not walk around. We were very disappointed.

Stayed at Merloni in September for 2 nights with the family and can only recommended this nice hotel. We stayed in a 3 bed room with WC which was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet but don't you go expecting any luxuries. The breakfast was good and the service was excellent. The same goes to the reception service and overall feeling in the hotel. There´s also a very nice pool that we didn't use as it wasn't that warm weather... Expect encountering biker groups and being one myself, was glad to see a fairly large group of bearded, leather jacket Harley guys being welcomed by everyone and behaving accordingly! There's more than meets the eye...

I have stayed in this hotel for one night and I have enjoyed every minute of it.
Hotel Merloni is located about 10 minutes driving from Menaggio in a great quite area in the montains (pay attention that there is no lake view from the hotel but there is an amazing view of the montains).
The room was exellent! New, very big, clean, beautiful and accupied with a kitchen (ask the hotel for it), heating system and an amazing view!
Moreover, the hotel has very nice swiming pool, a nice area to sit outside and indoor,a free parking, a niceresturant and a gym!
The breakfast was very rich and tasty, and even the fact that the hotel was fully booked it didn't disturb us at all!
In addition the service was exellent and the staff were very nice.

I liked it so much, it was a great place to visit Menaggio, Swiss and the area, I totally recommed this hotel!!!
