This is a small family-run hotel which is really wonderful for the price.
The rooms are basic, but are cleaned and new towels provided every morning.
Very cosy and warm when we were there during a rainy cool couple of days.
The owner and her dog are delightful; and the food in the hotel's restaurant was the best meal we had had on our trip!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a basic but comfortable stay in beautiful Menaggio.

Stay in room 25 or 26 with the little balconies overlooking the square and out to the lake at the corner of the square. I picked this tip up from another online review and asked for one of these rooms - one of the best decisions I made on my whole European trip. This is a fantastic location and so cheap in comparison to other options in the area. Booking was a bit more complex in this day of online reservations. But emails were responded to quickly and even my Babelfish translated text ended up with the right room! Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Was a great central spot from which to explore the lake on the ferries over several days. The hotel restaurant was great food simply done. Lots of other restaurant options in the area from cheaper to expensive and a nice bar on the main square to sit, Wi-Fi your emails, sip Campari+Soda, take in the lakeside mountain vista and watch the world go by. Lake Como is just so spectacularly beautiful to gaze out on! Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

A pleasant stay. The innkeeper was very welcoming when we arrived- at midnight! When we walked outside the next morning the view was truly a take your breath away experience.
We stayed here for 4 days of our budget honeymoon. The hotel is located on a courtyard that was basically on the lake, just a road in between. The rooms were very clean. We had a private bathroom with shower that was very small but clean and functional. There was no air conditioning, but with open windows and the lake breeze it was comfortable.
The only unpleasant incident with needing to have the windows open and being right on an echoing courtyard was the night that Milan won the European Cup or something, and the honking, screaming and cheering didn't stop until 4 AM. Every other night was pretty quiet.
The restaurant downstairs served some delicious pasta dishes.
Overall, it was great place to stay if you are on a budget.
