I stayed at the Disio for business for a week in September and had a wonderful experience. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, the rooms and nice and clean, and the grounds are gorgeous. We were there off season so there were very few people around, but I image the area is always quite. The pool was very nice, and if you like to golf there were a couple of holes and a driving range on the premises. The restaurant had very good food, and the breakfast spread was very nice as well. It has more of a "country" feel to it, and I recommend a mode of transportation and a navigation system if you stay there. It is not real easy to find, and it is about a 15 minute drive into town. However, if you are looking for a quite place to stay and relax, I would definitely recommend the Disio!

Finally getting around to writig reviews from our trip to Sicily. Let me start by saying that I use TripAdvisor to find good value hotels. I don't expect 4 or 5 star accommodations and I tend to be low maintenance. Just wanted to provide my perspective and expecations before I wrire anything about the hotel itself.

Of all the places we stayed in Sicily this was by far the best - but also the hardest to find. I hope you all have a GPS.

Pluses - nicest rooms we had on our trip. We were grateful to find a restaurant on the premises which we needed since we arrived so late after getting lost.

I have just retuned from a one week's stay at Disio Marsala with my wife and three other couples. Right from the start we were given service with a smile. Staff were always ready to go out of their way to give us any extra service we needed. The rooms are very comfortable and the view from the verandah attached to each room is of fine trees and green turf irrigated daily. The spacious pool provided us with hours of relaxation spent in the pool or on the loungers. The hotel is surrounded by a very large rural area, a good deal of which is cultivated. Evening strolls are delightful. None of us plays golf, but Disio provides very good golfing facilities.
We were on a half-board basis and had all our dinners but one at Disio. There was, to my mind, too much emphasis on fish and other sea food in the menus, and I would have liked more variety from one evening to another, but the quality of the food varied from good to excellent.
The resort is out in the country, but not very far from the city of Marsala, and is best enjoyed by persons having their own transport. Tourist atractions like Erice, Segesta, Selinunte, Ag rigento and San Vito al Capo are all within reach as part of a daytrip.

The Disio Resort is of a high standard in a tranquil rural setting. Own transport is essential due to its location. My wife and I were there in early June 2009, when it was so quiet that we often had the large swimming pool to ourselves. The grounds are well maintained with a small 3 hole golf course, driving range and putting green for golfers.
The Disio is very clean, with luxury towels (something often rare in Italy) changed daily. The staff are friendly and the Disio's restaurant is good serving mainly fish dishes. Nino the head waiter speaks English, and was particularly helpful in navigating us through the Italian menu.
We would recommend the Disio Resort, but found much of West and North West Sicily rather unattractive with large modern concrete apartment blocks dominating most towns, and very disappointing when compared with other regions of Italy we have visited over the years.
