“Best value in Iseo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2010

people found this review helpful

I have stayed here several times whenever I am in Iseo. It's very good value, with a quiet central location, walkable from the station.
It is a typical small family run hotel, and I have always slept well and enjoyed my stay there.
I must mention the good breakfast, because for the first time ever in Italy, I was offered a freshly boiled egg!
For those of you who want all the luxury and facilities of a 4/5 star hotel then I suggest you pay the price and find somewhere more suitable.

“Location great, rooms not special but clean and all amenities you need”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2010

We had 2 rooms with balconies overlooking the lake and the views, as mentioned in ealier reviews, were lovely. The hotel is in a great location on the lakeside and a few minutes walk to shops, restaurants, gelaterias and the ferry terminal for boats to all points of the lake. We ate in the hotel on a couple of evenings, and the quality of the food was very good, though there are also excellent restaurants nearby. I would happily stay here again, despite having 2 of the wheel trims stolen from the car whilst it was parked outside the hotel!

“Great Location on lake Iseo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2009

Stayed here for a long weekend and asked for room 44 as mentioned in other reviews.
Nice enough room with large balcony was ideal for a short break. Close to Train station and Ferry point. Staff were very polite and were happy to chat. Little bar was reasonably priced. Breakfast , as mentioned in previous review is a pretty basic affair - we just stuck with coffee , toast and jam. Good value acomadation with wonderful views of the lake and fantastic sunsets. Would recommend this hotel to other couples. We both thought lake iseo was really beutiful and had a lovely few days sailing around visiting the other little towns. Iseo town offers a wide selection of cafes and bars and is also very busy at weekends with people promonading until the wee small hours.

“Lake Iseo....very nice location...read on.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2008

Lake Iseo is a very special location...nice long flat
easy walking promenade with the best views...many
restaurants along the promenade...the best one at the end
called Lido -Planeta...this restaurantant has views and food
that are exceptional...best pizza also...
The Hotel Milano has the best location as it is right on the waterfront with water view...room 44 is very nice
has nice lakeview balcony
The hotel is small and toiletries...soap and tissue for bathroom
are a little sparse in the daily offering...sometimes 1 given
sometimes 2...sometimes none...and they are small
breakfast is in a nice dining room with very good coffee
and cappucino...but only bread and jams are put out.
So if you dont like jam on bread there is nothing else
besides dry packages in cellophane...I looked at the
ingredients in a cellophane prepackaged croissant
and it was loaded with additives...unedible...we walked
to bakery about 60 feet down the back road and brought
a bag of items in each morning...so all we had was coffee
but that was very nice...
the hotel owners are heavy smokers and the smoke is
in the lobby area front entrance a good part of the day ...
not a problem unless you linger there.
restaurant at hotel is nice, food is good...
so if it rains you are all set for eating there...
there really are no other hotels on this promenade..so
for the value ...price of the room I would recommend
this hotel because of its location...it is clean
and for a 2 star is adequate...
They could improve the breakfast since it is 7 euro
by adding fresh croissants...more bread variety..
the standard cheese and cold cut platter ..and a better
orange juice....the jams are placed in 3 or 4 pie tart plates
and fill the whole breakfast table with not much else than
cereal and a few prepackaged items...
would recommend the hotel ....as location is great

“Really nice hotel facing Lake Iseo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 April 2008

Very happy about the hotel accommodation at Hotel Milano. The room was renovated, new furniture, carpet and seemed recently painted. It appears that they renovated all the rooms, even the wide hotel hall had a new carpet.

We had a double room facing the lake, spacious enough for 2 (room 44). A nice size balcony with chairs and table.

The bathroom was large enough, also with new fixtures. There were some visible things that didn't seem to be renovated (like a crack in a tile, etc) but nothing really major to be bothered about.

Clean, nice, pleasant and comfortable. The hotel is facing the lake and you cross a one way street to get to the promenade. No big deal as it is a narrow street You do heard the noise from outside if you have a room facing the lake, that is only on the busy days or nights. In the room there is a wooden blind that you can roll down and helps with reducing the noise which is primarily from the people walking on the promenade.!

The hotel has a restaurant, although it was not open since we went off season. They do offer breakfast for 7€uro but you can easily go to one of the nearby cafes to get your coffee and a pastry or sandwich in an outside terrace.

Next to the restaurant and part of the hotel there is a barl. They also have a computer in the bar.

The hotel has a small parking lot right in front, however I don't know whether you need to pay and reserve. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Location:
On the one side of the hotel is the tourism office and on the other there is a gelateria.

You don't need a car in Iseo, you are within walking distance from the bus stop, train station, supermarket, boat docks to take the boat to different towns and Monte Isola, restaurants, even the Nature reserve. With nice weather walking is a nice alternative.

Definitely would stay here on a next trip to Iseo.

  • Liked — location and view
  • Disliked — the noise from outside, it was only one night that happened - so could live w/it
