We were picked up from the airport and a lunch was prepared for us. The hotelowner escorted us to our room.
The room was very comfortable and clean.
At arrival we received information about the cycling trips and in the evening we were introduced to our guide.
For cyclists the cyclingcloths are laundred every day, what a perfect service!
Our bikes were stored in a locked storage. The area is perfect for cycling (race) and mountainbike.
The swimmingpool was good.
Breakfast good, during lunch an antipasta buffet with pasta, in the morning the menu is presented for diner and you can choose your primi and secundi. Great meals!
Minus: 2x a day the same antipastabuffet during your whole stay.
The service was great and correct, the staff is very friendly and speaks English and German.
The weekly excursion to the winehouse is a very charming event.

This was my 5th stay at the Alexander in 4 years, and since finding it I have never looked for an alternative in this location. The staff literally could not be more hospitable and helpful. Normally when staying away from home in hotels in Italy I take the breakfast only option and use eating out as a means of exploring the location. In my five visits to the Alexander I have only eaten out twice, both of which were special occasions. There is no simply temptation to, the food is that good. I invariably meet guests here from other parts of Europe that I have met in previous years, which indicates that, understandably, the Alexander gets a high volume of repeat business. Enough said, very highly recommended. I have already booked for September...

This was our first visit to Gabbice Mare for cycling in the local area. We were not disappointed. A good range of rides expertly led by either a fast local semi pro rider, or more leisurely (but no less demanding) experienced German guide. Rides featuring some stunning scenery and demanding climbs, tailored to the group of riders. Cafe stops for some of the excellent local coffee and cake. Accomodation in the hotel was good and clean with frequent maid service. Breakfast is a buffet style affair, with plenty on offer. The after ride food was sometimes a little disappointing, but nevertheless plentiful. The evening meals are 4 courses of very good food served in a friendly manner. We plan/hope to return next year, which is the highest compliment that we can give, if we didn't like our stay we wouldn't be back. Over all we can highly recommend a stay at this excellent establishment.

This is a truly magical hotel. Run by a family for families. We have been coming for 8 years - Italian families for generations. It's not swanky... think Bournemouth or Torquay! The relationship between quality and price is excellent. You get a real welcome from the owners Roberto and Cinzia which you will not get anywhere else. The hotel caters for all ages from young children to those of an older age, from those who want to laze by the pool or recline on the beach to those who want a real sporting challenge cycling the country roads! Gabicce Mare is a 'bucket and spade' Italian resort... Forte del Marme it isn't. Come here for real value.
