My wife and I stayed at the Albergo Centrale in Cernobbio, Italy in late November 2011. We chose to rent the 2 room family apartment located within the hotel because we had invited family to join us. The apartment included two separate bedrooms, spacious living room with flat screen TV, a kitchen with stove and refrigerator and large bathroom with separate bath and shower.

The Hotel serves a continental breakfast and has a fine restaurant and bar on the premise. One drawback is the hotel does not have an elevator but there are only three floors and staff was very friendly and willing to help.

Albergo Centrale is about a 10 minuet cab ride from the Como San Giovanni railway station and can also be reached by ferry or bus. Lake Como and the ferry stop is just a short walk away. The ferry is easy to use and provides access to other towns on the lake. I would recommend the Albergo Centrale .

Lovely hotel in centre of Cernobbio overlooking Lake Como. Gorgeous location with easy access to the Piazza, fabulous public pool (special overlooking the lake and mountain views). We enjoyed access to 2 x triple rooms (parents, children & grandparents). Comfortable and clean rooms with small but totally beautiful bathrooms. Well appointed. Great breakfast. Helpful staff and bus & ferry stop are literally at your doorstep. Gorgeous alfresco restaurant at the hotel is always buzzing in the evening and creates an inviting atmosphere for tourists. Great location with other local restaurants available. Would stay in Cernobbio again. Photos coming!

The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the lake and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and polite. We stayed 4 nights whilst attending the Formula 1 racing at Monza. The only downside was the size of the room. It was fine for just 4 nights but I would find it too small to say for any longer. The continental breakfast was varied and fresh and the evening meal was delicious. I would stay here again for a short trip.

The hotel has a great location within a stone's throw from the lake, and everything else in Cernobbio. Como itself and the lake's other attractions are easily reachable by boat.

The staff were very helpful at all times of the day and night. The hotel has it's own parking lot in the back, which is a blessing in this town. The rooms were clean, comfortable and lacked nothing. The only small downsides are that there is no elevator, and some of the rooms are a bit small.

The breakfast is hearty compared to a lot of other places in Italy. The restaurant is pretty good for lunch/dinner, though it remains a mystery why so many of the fish are frozen rather than fresh. To their credit, the frozen items are clearly marked in the menu.

Finally, the hotel should be commended for its reasonable rates, even in the middle of the high season!
