In such a small town, it was great to have a hotel in such a central location. We had a spacious room, with a view of the lake through the buildings opposite. The staff were always friendly and willing to advise on places to eat etc. We were lucky enough to be there during an eco chocolate festival which meant that there were lots of market stalls, music, parades etc. Breakfast was very generous with pastries and rolls etc. It was great value for the price.

We spent four nights at Hotel la Torre and enjoyed the location and the hotel. The staff were very helpful with suggestions for day trips and local information. The breakfast breads were exceptional. The location in the walled city is very convenient, with several restaurants nearby, easy walking to the fortress and down to the lake for a boat trip. Market day was interesting and busy. Yes, the rooms are basic but you have all you need and at the price this makes a great base for the local area. Our room (#8 I think) had a view through an archway to the lake.

Hotel La Torre is an excellent hotel. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help. It has large rooms with a nice bath room and air conditioning. The rooms are very quiet although the hotel is at the main road. I just wish I could have stayed longer in this super hotel !

The citta vecchia of Castiglione del Lago is a little jewel of a walled medieval town. Hotel la Torre is just inside the walls and very nice. The rooms are basic, but very clean three-star rooms. The owner and staff are extremely helpful and considerate. They serve a selection of very good baked goods from the bakery next door for breakfast. I highly recommend a side-trip to this town for anyone headed to or from northern Italy from Rome.
