“Heaven on Earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2010

When we decided to go to Italy all we wanted was a villa in Chainti. wow did we get one. Umberto and Bridgette are the nicest people. They could not do enough for us. when we were there all the leaves were turning on the vines and that made for a fantastic view from our suite. The antiques are just beautiful and the grounds to die for. Make sure to befriend the cat with white paws, Bianca. She will show you all around the estate.
Our only complaint was the bed was not very comfortable. However everything else made up for it. We cannot wait to get back. Ciao

“Beautiful villa in a scenic setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

We enjoyed our night at the villa. We stayed in the annex because we could get an apartment for extra room for the three of us. The apartment was large, clean, quiet, and very comfortable. We did not have a view, but some rooms in the annex might. ( The rooms in the main house do have a nice view). The air-conditioner worked well. The pool was delightful, large enough to really swim, with lounge chairs around. We met other guests from all around Europe. The villa is down a dirt road, but not far from the town of Castellina in Chiati, where there are many restaurants. (A car is necessary). Breakfast was delicious. The management was very helpful with recommendations for wine tasting and interesting sites in Chianti.

“Beautiful surroundings but needs guests”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2010

Had a very nice stay in this old villa set in the most beautiful countryside but at times felt the need for company. No other guests some days. The rooms were tasteful and large with lovely views, but our bathroom was very cramped and basic. The pool was good on a hot day but the food was its downfall. Breakfast was very mediocre, cold scrambled egg not my cup of tea! My sister found the cctv cameras rather intrusive . Expensive for what was there.

“So Special!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2010

When you travel down the gravel, slightly rutted road to get to this Hotel, you may wonder whether you have made a mistake or not, but soon you come upon CasaLecchi and you know you have happened upon something special. The place is one for daydreams and longing. I definitely didn't want to leave! The food and service were GREAT and even though we stayed in the annex, the room was big and comfortable with windows that opened up on a view of the vineyard and valley. A magical place we hope to get back to soon.

“Great location to explore the region and to relax”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2009

I just returned from a 6 night stay at this beautiful hotel. I thought I would be the only one with young kids (7 and 9) but there were many other families, as well. There was also a good mix of older and younger couples. We had two rooms at ground level, with french doors. Every room seems to be individually furnished and not all of the same spaciousness. We had rooms 8 and 9. If you can have a choice, room 9 is much more spacious, and has two french doors. The breakfasts were the same each morning, but it had enough selection that you were never bored with it. In fact, it was the best breakfast I had in all of Italy. There were fresh croissants, fresh fruit, pastries/cakes, hard boiled eggs, an assortment of cereals, jams, rolls, cheeses and deli meats. The entire property is elegant, clean and very quiet. It doesn't make you want to leave!! The pool is very deep, so if you have kids that can't swim, maybe not a good idea. It is quite a distance to walk into town (Castellina), but it makes for a very short car ride, with no problems for parking. There are a good assortment of places to eat in town. The only thing that could use some improvement is the level of service sometimes offered. It would have been more helpful if reception would provide maps of the area (instead of telling me to buy one in town), and provide more useful information about driving directions. You need a car to travel the area, don't rely on buses as it will take too long. Siena and Firenze are both very close by car. A beautiful stay and highly recommended.
