“Amazing Tuscan Villa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay. From the moment we walked into the villa we knew it would feel like home . Our rooms were so wonderful and spacious, including the bathrooms. Very clean too. Knowing the history of the villa added to the allure as well. The food was superb and the staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make everything perfect. I wish I could have stayed there for our entire trip and when I return to Italy, that will be first place I will choose to stay.

Room Tip: The rooms that overlook the garden are very quiet and appear to be larger as well. A little more dif...

“Peaceful, relaxing place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

We stayed for 3 nights on our honeymoon before we went to Florence. This is a very quiet and peaceful place were you eat great food, take long walks, hanging around the poolarea and just relax. The staff is so friendly and the service is great!

“Lovely Villa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2011

When we arrived we asked for an upgraded room and we moved immediately to a large room with a view of vineyards, rose gardens and their swimming pool area. The staff was very friendly and the service was excellent, with free wifi. A great place to use as a home base in Tuscany as you will have an easy drive to many quaint villages.

“Unbelievable. Heaven on Earth.”

you will not get a warmer welcome than you do at Villa Casalecchi. As we drove down the gravel road that leads you to the house from the main road i remember thinking to myself "we've landed on our feet here" and that was just the beginning. the staff, the miniature sausage dog lilly, the pol, the food the decor/ambience. Everything about it made you feel like you're a trillion miles away form London/the tube/nonsense.

You'll need a car of course. Well positioned 40 mins from Florence and 20 mins from Siena its the perfect location for milling about the Tuscan countryside. if sight seeing is too much for you, sprawl by the crispy cold pool and admire the lovely view. the local town castilla in chianti is probably 2-3 kms along the main road. we drove about 1.5 ks of this and walked the rest in the evening, meanignt that the walk home was half the total distance and i didint mind driving the final 1km after a few glasses of red.

There are a handful of beautiful restaurants in town, the one in the main square and 'porte' are the best. Depending on how much of a glutton you are dinner for 2 with wine comes in at between 70-100 yoyo's. 100 was the full shooting match - cheese board to start with black truffle honey, boar pasta, veal steak and tiramasu. 70 was more like antipasti, pasta and cheesecake. needless to say the wine is to die for no matter where you drink it.

Also try toe cafe along the bottom road of the town for lunch - E10 for all you can eat Tuscan antipasti. Well worth a go!

Back to the hotel you will not be disappointed, its peaceful, quiet, beautiful, covered in flowers and butterflies and the most perfect place to unwind. breakfast will no doubt bore you by day 4 - boiled eggs fruit, cereal, bread, cheese meat salami, tea and coffee - usual continental fare except good quality and served in the most beautiful room. however must not knock this fabulous free start to another beautiful day in Tuscany.

Enjoy!

“Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2011

We loved this place! Beautiful gardens & pool. The restaurant was outstanding - ate there 2 nights. The chef prepares fresh, local food - things like wild boar stew! Had a very good breakfast - much more than the usual fare - meat, cheese, tomatoes, cereals, breads.
