I stayed with my husband in this hotel two days the last summer in our one week holiday in Italy.
The region is so beautiful, the landscapes also; the position of the hotel can't be better.
The room spacious and with antique furniture.
We had on our first day dinner in the hotel restaurant and we were happy with our choise because the tuscan food that they served was delicious. You can drink at the bar a glass of chianti wine from their production; they do the wine with the grapes from the vineyards all around the hotel!!
The staff was very kind and helpful.
If we will be back in Italy, for sure we will try to pass at least one day in this wonderful place!!

So often we see those beautiful pictures of Tuscany where ancient stoned-wall mansions (the local "casali") are lying among mild hills, colored of grapes, olive trees and cypress... When I approached Belvedere di San Leonino I could not believe to my eyes: the gorgeous countryside was spotted by these wonderful old mansions, and one of these was the hotel itself, a 600 years old building with classic traditional rooms and ancient furniture. I felt to be inside a dream. I had a warm welcome and was ready to explore all the area that, being a gem itself, is in the heart of Tuscany and close to so many classic Tuscany spots. I had a wonderful stay. Car is mandatory, there is a free parking, WiFi access is available and the area is also covered by 3G access. My room had an efficient heating system, airconditioning, fridge and all the comforts so this location could be rated 4 stars rather than 3.

My wife and I have been honeymooning in Europe for the last month and stayed in some wonderfully unique accommodations. We were in Florence one night and had the urge the next morning to get out into the country. We booked the first hotel we saw online in the Chianti region and our spontaneity was rewarded with the Belvedere di San Leonino. We just checked out this morning and already want to go back!

After we overshot our bus stop out of Siena, a hotel staff member PICKED US UP from Castellina so we wouldn't have to pay for a taxi to come get us all the way from Siena (take a taxi directly to the hotel). Amazing customer service right from the start. The hotel itself stands alone on a hilltop overlooking the Chianti region and has stunning views. The rooms are spacious and make you feel almost instantly that you have your own little Tuscan villa. The food is outstanding and the bar is open all day.

After being on the go for 4 weeks, I couldn't have dreamt up a better place to unwind and recharge. Best value for your money that we got all trip so far and the staff are truly something special. We wanted to rent a scooter one day and the nice lady in the reception area (so sorry I'm forgetting your name!) set it up for us and even dropped us off at the nearest bus stop in her own vehicle. Then, last night before heading over to dinner, we asked a staff member what the most efficient way to Rome was from the hotel. She informed us and we went on our way. Then, after dinner we went into the office to get something and the same woman was on the phone talking to someone about a route to Rome. She hung up and told us a better way than she had mentioned before. The fact that while we were at dinner she was checking on this for us still is remarkable to me. Such attention to detail we won't soon forget!

Thanks to everyone at the Belvedere for creating a memorable 4 days for us...I think we found a place that we'll be returning to for a long time.

We picked the hotel as our base to explore Chianti. The location is indeed great and easily accessible. The property is well maintained and has some rooms and a nice pool that overlooks the rolling tuscan hills. Hotel staff particularly the receptionists are friendly and helpful.
On the second night, we decided to stay over at another hotel where we had cooking lesson that afternoon. The next day, the receptionist even called us to make sure we were fine.
There are really loads of hotels in the Chianti region. But one that combines location, service and good view at such a price tag - hard to come by.
