The rooms are spacious, bright, clean, with tasteful modern design (the hotel was recently completely refurbished). Luxurious bathrooms. The rooms on the back-side offer a nice sight of the mountains.

They have an excellent breakfast buffet that can also be enjoyed on a pleasant terrace overlooking the garden of the neighbouring monastery.

Many attractive restaurants and bars are within short walking distance in the Brixen city centre area; plus they have a cosy terrace bar for a night cup on the street side. Staff are efficient and knowledgeable.

The hotel is ‘mountain biker friendly’: they have a storage room, bike rental, and they organize guided tours (the owner of the hotel is a mountain-biking enthusiast, certified guide, and organizer of Caidom). Brixen is –among other things- a great start point for multiday mountain-bike tours e.g. into the Dolomites.

The hotel price includes entrance to 'Aquarena', an excellent indoor and outdoor water park just 200m walking distance from the hotel.

Access to the internet is a bit cumbersome and expensive; the parking garage is small and costs extra.

I have been coming to Goldene Krone every year since 2005, for a combination of business and leisure, and hope to do so many more times

Very nice hotel, rooms were large and very clean. Bath room was fantastic. Breakfast buffet the top. Not so cheap (~ 90 euro / night single room), but certainely worth the money! If I would come again in Bressanone/Brixen, I would stay here again.
One disadavntage: you have to pay for the internet.

After 7 days walking in the mountains, the Goldene Krone was a lovely surprise in Brixen.

The rate was cheap as we walked off the street in a quiet time. The hotel has been recently refurbished in a light and bright theme. Our room overlooked the local abbey and it was pleasant to watch the nuns gardening in the early morning.

The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. It was also nice to be able to open the windows and not be blasted by noise but instead by clean, cool air, although the hotel is definintely in the heart of the "old city".

The Goldene Krone looks like it is positioning itself as a Spa Hotel. We did not use any of these services, but they looked very pleasant.

We would definitely recommend this hotel for those travelling through Brixen or if you wanted to use it as a base for a few days.

We did not have a car, so I can't advise on the ease of parking, The hotel did have an underground car park which you would be able to use for a fee.
