“I always stay here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2011

The hotel has a great location, walking distance to everything, castle and downtown and shopping. Its across from the train station so easy to get around Italy. I part for under 7 euros a day in the train station parking. There are some doggy people around the hotel, but feel safe as there are lots of police, great food in hotel or the restaurant next door.

“We had a nice room but struggled with front desk staff member”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2010

We enjoyed our stay in Brescia and the hotel rooms were clean and more than adequate. The breakfast was an added plus. Only negative was dealing with one of the front desk ladies. She was very short giving any infomation and especially so when we tried to deal with our confusing bill at checkout and also with helping us when we were asked to move our room which we did very willingly due to a water leaking problem. It left us with a bad taste when we left. The restaurant next door was EXCEPTIONAL and Luigi was one of the highlights of our stay. Just feel that the situation at the front desk really makes a huge difference. The internet was out of order the whole time we were there and the same young lady was irritated when we asked if it would be available soon.

“nice hotel, not nice area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

The hotel is nice, but the area is not nice at all.
Minimal breakfast and not entirely satisfying.

“Lovely little place let down by Drug addicts, prostitutes and dealers,"”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

We booked this hotel in January 2010, as part of our holiday sight seeing package of Italy which we booked independantly. Being of Italian desent I wanted to show or give my spouse a small taste of the real Italia. Brescia is very very very gorgeous, with ample links to Verona and the trains are dirt cheap!

The town itself is bustling but not over the top like main tourist places like Venice for example. The town boasts a lush castle and numerous museums and galleries and being now aged in the 30's age bracket I was done with the normal 18-30 drunken holiday package. I would highly recomend Brescia especially the castle and literally hundreds of back streets that contavin marvellous but not cheap restaraunts but it is value for money.

NH Brescia on the other hand..............NO NO NO. The hotel itself was clean, spacious and greatly placed in the city centre location. Problem being we arrived during a localy holiday that was not advertised on the compnay website much to our sincere frustration and anger! This means that the bar in the hotel was closed and that you could not buy an evening meal in the grounds also!!!! WE WERE ONLY INFORMED OF THIS ON CHECK IN WHICH IS UTTERLY DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!

This was not advertised which left us VER Y VERY VERY disgruntled. We had only organised breakfast but would have liked the option to have dinner too CERTAINLY AS OUTSIDE THE HOTEL WAS CRAZY! The bar was closed which meant you could not even buy a drink. It was shocking that this was not advertised. The hotel itself is lovely by day and by night well its another story as drug deallers and pimps and prostitutes surround the area. There are no police present during evening hours and it almost feels like a tollerance area as we saw many assaults and were offered drugs on numerous occasions I was even propersitioned by Chinese prostitues with 20 metres of my hotel. I am a well built man and fear little or nothing but the vibe of Brescia at night time was not good I did not feel safe and was worried to let my partner venture out alone in the city centre!

The staff of the hotel were of no use what so ever! Because the hotel was in holiday regional season we had to dine out or bring food back to our room. When we asked the reception staff where the supermartkets were, they did not know? We asked for cuttelry for our noom and were told no there was not even a kettle. IMAGINE EMPLOYING STAFF WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE AREA????????

There was one supermarket directly behind the hotel which was Polish and I will tell you we saved a fortune by shopping there beer as little as 60p a can and wine for £1.50.
Would I recommend this hotel???? In a nutshell NO. If I could lift it up and drop it nearer to the castle or the old part of town; PERHAPS I would. I would recommend you visit the older part of town and stay there. The locals are very very very nice and its really a shame that this hotel with all its potential is surrounded by this scum. Dont get me wrong this happens everywhere but the hotel group must do more to protect and serve its customers.

In short NH group has left a disgruntled taste in my mouth and I will be looking for a refund. It was my birthday during my stay at the NH Brescia and I felt like I was staying in a youth hostel. Although you dont pay to stay in the hotel all your holidays I have the feeling that I was too afraid to leave the hotel at night the staff were very inconsiderate and unhelpful and should have had alternative plans in place.

I MUST ADVISE YOU THOUGH BRESCIA IS GORGEOUS THE PEOPLE AT THE OLD TOWN ARE GREAT AND WELCOMING THE RESTARAUNTS FAB THE CATHEDRAL AMAZING

A memorable experience I'd rather forget. PLEASE DONT BE PUT OFF BRESCIA IS STUNNING CLOSE TO LAKE GARDA AND VERONA
