“The perfect welcome”

A damp, overcast, day is not the weather you want to start a holiday but the welcome my mother and I received on entering Hotel Milano could not have been warmer. It is run by a lovely husband and wife team and there is a truly homely atmosphere throughout the hotel. We were over come by how friendly and helpful they were, at one point even offering to drive us a destination!
The interior of the hotel is both fresh and warm so I can see why the hotel is busy all year long. We had a beautiful room, with many sky channels on the TV, but best of all a power shower with jets, just what we needed after a long day sking.
Food was beautiful with a great variety from evening to evening.I could not recommend this hotel highly enough.Great value for money. And the best introduction to Italian hospitality.

“Great Location, Shame about the food”

We booked this holiday as a last minute cheap deal, and on arrival at the Hotel Maderno we were pleasantly suprised by the hotel and it's location on a pedestrianised street overlooking the lake. The hotel's public areas are of a very good standard, the pool and gardens are beautiful, and the rooms although basic, which is normal for italy, were quite adequate and very clean.
Our only criticism was that every night we had exactly thesame salad buffet which comprised entirely of tinned cold vegetables.
It was a shame that more thought wasn't put in to this aspect as it really did let down the otherwise acceptable menu. That said for the price we paid we couldn't complain but had we paid full price for the holiday we'd have been most disappointed.
