“Hidden Gem”

Spent one night at Villa Cicchi, and it was wonderful. Restored family farm with lots of charm. Our room had painted ceilings to look like a fresco. The family. especially Elena, were terrific. Elena is a trained chef and prepared a romantic dinner for two for us next to the fireplace. The next morning we had a thorough tour of the buildings, including the old, private chapel. Great breakfast. The Villa is a bit our of town, but worth the trip.

“Do stay here if you can!”

This lovely place would make a wonderful base for a week of relaxation, or for exploring the Piceno region; we were sorry that we could stay for only one night and would happily return. The villa and its surroundings are beautiful and tranquil; the family (who have owned the estate for a hundred years and clearly love it dearly) are charming, welcoming and immensely knowledgeable about their region. For anyone interested in the history and culture of the Marche, Villa Cicchi is perfect. And the food is outstanding, lovingly prepared from local produce. The rooms are large, with period furniture and plenty of thoughtful touches (fresh fruit, still and sparkling mineral water with a big glass goblet). The en suite bathrooms are well equipped, with big, fluffy towels and particularly delicious-smelling toiletries. Before we left, the signora took us on a tour of the house (including the cellars where the local anise liqueur is made), the gardens and the tiny chapel. A beguiling experience.

“Personal - Peacefull - Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2010

When entering the huge area full of history and nature, we felt like arriving in paradise. The short number of rooms and the fact, that this agriturismo is held by a family that also lives here, makes the trip very personal. Even a round trip through this relaxing place, to see the wine cellar, the very old church and the lovely garden, was guided for us by the Signora Cicchi.
The collection of historical furniture, decoration and functional objects is very impressive. Moreover, every room is different and has it own personality.
Also the breakfast was outrageous, most of all for an italian breakfast.
Only the location on a hill could cause a problem, if you do not have a car to get there, but even a walk by foot would be worth it.
We will definitly come back!

“Stay here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2005

We wanted to visit Ascoli Piceno and the south Marche region so we chose Villa Cicchi, an Agritourismo about 3 km from Ascoli. You do need a car if you plan to stay here as it is fairly isolated, and in the evening if you want to eat or go for drinks in the town then you would need to drive/get a taxi. However, this was a fantastic place to stay. It is full of character - each room has a painted ceiling and they vary in style and size. The pool is a good size and was very quiet when we visited. The two meals we ate there (careful if you ask for lunch, you will get 4 courses with wine and won't be able to function for the rest of the day!) were 2 of the best meals we've ever eaten; traditionally Italian with fresh produce, and wine and olive oil from their own farm.

If you want to relax in a peaceful and secluded spot with excellent food and accommodation with character, then you should stay here.
