The room and hall smell terrible. The room air conditioned didn't work and could not be regulated. The shower did not drain the water properly and the room had a step to go to the bathroom. The breakfast was OK although it does not have warm selections.
Definitely not a 5* hotel - maybe 3* ..but maybe. You will find in Greece a lot of beautiful hotels and sites. Avoid Alexandros Palace as much as you can.
This town is full of hotels. This is probably one of the worst. Front desk staff are overworked and as a result, not effective. Upon arrival we mentioned our room was too hot 24C, and needed someone to check the air conditioning. Despite checking daily, we left 3 days later - room 24C. The porter just plain doesn't want to do his job. The shower stall in our room was so small and I am a small woman - don't know how a man could cope. The doors on the stall didn't close tightly either. Also intriguing was the duct tape at the external base of the shower stall - to cover rust??? The bathroom itself was a fair size with the bidet area taking up more space than the shower. We were on the street side and as we needed to leave our window open (hot room), the nights were very noisy. Others facing inward said it was very quiet. The food was absolutely horrible. Standard good choice for breakfast but coffee from a machine and no way of getting anyone's attention when the platters were empty. Dinner was another matter - rubbery chicken, canned peas. Definitely need a consultant to review food service. The room was the so often seen, austere decor with only one chair. The pool was closed when we returned from our touring day. If you can, book somewhere else.
This is a hotel I wouldn't recommend if you're planning to pay for full board /breakfast, lunch and dinner). It is poor. It's tasteless. It looks depressing. To think that Itlay is a food country.... then this hotel stands out due to its awful food! I have eaten so much better in Italy of course!
On the good side: very nice reception staff who speak English fluently, helpful and nice. The rooms were small but nice too. Cleaning was almost perfect.
The pools were nice but the gym is a bit crappy
Actually it's fine if you're not eating there - then it's disaster...
