Stayed here 3rd to 7th May 2012, in a group of 50. Outside of building very shabby, most double glazed panels fogged up, reception staff welcomed us with tea and sorted out room keys, only one lift, corridor fire doors dirty, our room, 136, on 1st floor with balcony and sea view, right on sea front. All furniture shabby and MFI quality, bathroom mouldy with ingrained black mould on tiles, bath and ceiling, balcony railings flexed dangerously in centre, need bolting more firmly.
No interconnecting room phones or hairdryer (available if you borrowed one from reception) , small old type TV, only BBC 1 obtainable, mealtimes quite hectic and noisy because of the number of guests arriving at the same time, breakfast OK, staff very helpful and courteous, evening meal choice of meat, fish or vegetarian but do you expect Brussel sprouts and roast potatoes with breaded Plaice? There is a problem with bed bugs in some rooms, 2 of our party badly affected. After diagnosis by Doctor, hotel notified. From previous reviews, I can only assume some of the rooms were better than others. As the hotel is used by a number of coach tour operators, ours was Majestic, maybe they have the choice of a better menu and higher quality rooms.
