Overall a conveniently located, pristinely clean and tidy hotel. Margi was extremely welcoming and couldn't be more helpful, but Graeme was somewhat brusque in his welcome, making us feel like teenagers, with his curt instructions and pointing out the do's and don't (like wiping feet), but he had new carpets, so I guess he was somewhat protective.
The rooms had every item that one could want during a stay, including, toiletries, soft towelling dressing gowns, tea and coffee making facilities, TV with freesat and free WiFi, but the room was incredibly small and became quite irritating as we tried to live in it for a three night stay. The bathroom, I'm sorry to say, although beautifully new and clean, was impossibly small and we're not large people, by any means. The shower seemed squashed in and it was impossible to get a comfortable position under the flow. Getting out of the bath/shower was very difficult due to the lack of space and I have the bruises to prove it. I appreciate that they've tried to pack in as much as they can, but this did detract considerably from the overall comfort of the room, which was a shame. Also, on the last evening and morning, the room was very cold with the radiator not really getting more than lukewarm. To be fair we didn't bother Graeme about it as it was our last night and morning, so didn't give them a change to resolve it, which I'm sure they would have done.
The breakfasts were very good and plentiful, but due to the size of property, this had to be shared in a dining room on a table set for 6 with other guests, which is not my preferred way, as I don't feel very social in the mornings. But that's just my preference, I mention it here only so others can choose for themselves, whilst fully informed.
I would recommend Clarence House to others, but not for more than a 1 or 2 night stay and with a few caveats.

Gosh! - I am so sorry I came over as being gruff and schoolmasterish.I must have been having a bad hair day, because this is not my usual sunny nature!
I agree the rooms are smallish but it must be remembered that we are a B and B not a hotel and as such operating from what was once a private house originally: practically everyone accepts this and the fact that we do our very level best to provide all the little extras many don't, hopefully makes up for that as I think nearly all reviews show.
