we booked a week to Lowerhyde and visited on the last week of the summer half term.

we were in silver accommodation which was fine however might book silver plus or gold next time as the silver is not quite to the same standard as silver in a Haven park.

there is a small arcade area...indoor spa pool and outdoor pool which the kids loved.

ignore the bad reviews about this park, i was a bit worried but it is completely adequate and the facilities avaliable outside of the park make up for it.

only thing i would complian about is the bar... they had no snacks, crisps, nuts etc and had ran out of certain wines ie. there was no red at all. considering it was still half term i think the resort could have been a bit better stocked and the entertainers were clearly on a wind down but overall a nice base to visit shanklin and sandown.

Its been a few months since we stayed at the Lower Hyde park and the bad memories are still with us. We had a bronze Chalet booked for one week in August. On arrival we were given directions to our Chalet, first impressions on opening the door was the stench of mould on the windows, futher investigating revealed no shower just a bath with black mould stains on the edges of it and the total lack of privacy. We complained and got upgraided to a silver Chalet. This Chalet was not much better than the Bronze but we decided to make the most of it. After cleaning the windows and sweeping the patio we tried to settle in but there was even less privacy than the first one as it was positioned on the juction of the two roads at the entrance to the site. We are not fussy people but we can honestly say that we found the accomodation Lower Hyde Park filthy. Isle of wight is a beautiful place and we will visit again. OUR ADVISE IS DO NOT STAY AT THIS RESORT, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE

We booked a bronze caravan in October half term. Was a nice size to fit a family of 4, clean and fairly warm and was a good base for exploring the island. There was plenty to do for the children on site and the food was adequate in the bar area. We also got told we could use the next doors park resort swimming pool facilities while we were there. Adventure playground was good and the children had fun in there especially when the park resorts characters Sparkle and Sparky played there too!

On reading some other comments I was also there the last week of the season and me and my family really enjoyed ourselfs. We joined in things we could and the staff were very friendly one that's sticks in my mind was ness the ents manager she was very good not often you get someone like that. Our last night was also good one of the team sang and did her best and I would have to disagree with one of the comments I thought she could sing as her profession is dancing. Overall I would advice people if they don't want to join in things don't say anything as the team seemed to work really hard to get people involved. Really good holiday and we stayed for the halloween weekend which was very good. We re-booked for next year.
