We were greeted in a very friendly way, with the offer of tea and biscuits. The room was very clean and had all you could require. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. (Lots of coat hangers in the wardrobe girls). Hair dryer, only a little thing but plenty of power. After a walk the beach front we went back to the B & B and had a couple of drinks and a friendly chat with the owners. We had a very comfortable night. The range of food offered for breakfast was amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection, my partner made the most of the cooked breakfast, but as I am on a diet I went for fruit and yoghurt, so there is a selection for all.
We only stayed 2 nights, but at breakfast the next day they had noted all our requirements.

We stayed a couple of days at Sonachan House and it was a great experience. We were pleased to find a very welcoming host who gave us plenty of hints on what to do in Paington.
The room was at the top of the building with stunning views of the Paington beach and pier. It had a very good size, with a double bed and a single one (although we were only 2 people). Only hint: test the sides of the bed: the right one had the shape of all people who have slept there, the left one felt much better... odd...
The only negative point could be the red button you have to switch outside the toilet if you want hot water (I had to travel all my way down to reception to find out). Oh, and maybe the very poor water pressure in the shower. But hey, you are on the top of a hill and at the attic of a building, so I guess it is normal.
The slope where the B&B sits is a bit too much if you carry your own case from the city centre, but they have a lovely garden with some parking available for guests if you drive. Oh, and a couple of guinea pigs and a rabbit that would entertain every child!!

Lovely family run hotel , nothing was too much trouble . Excellent if travelling with small children .

We stayed at Sonachan House taking over 5 rooms as a extended family of 3 generations. Tony and Julie run a little gem of a hotel in a great location being a short walk to Goodington and it's lovely park and beach, and also another short (10min) walk in the other direction to Paignton with it's shops and pier and beach. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, and the rooms well equipped. Tony and Julie are very welcoming and friendly and the food is wonderful and very ample. Bar prices are very reasonable. We all enjoyed our stay very much and would not hesitate to return. Thankyou.
