Finding the hotel was very easy. I was given a nice welcome from Cathy and Mel. My room was bigger than expecty as had only booked a single.

Although I only had toast, cereals, juice and coffee (due to the half marathon that took place). I saw the full english which looked very tempting.

After my race was invited back to freshen up before my journey home.

Here's to next years visit.

What a great welcome we received from Cathy & Mel !!!! We had booked a compact room but got a large double + single bed,very comfy , large room with high ceilings, en suite more than adequate & very clean.Breakfast set you up for the day,two of everything!!!! The hotel is so convenient for all the attractions,especially the railway,which we really enjoyed( missley weather) Caught the bus to Torquay (very helpful in the bus station) Would have no hesitation about visiting again . Plenty of places to eat from fast food to italian restaurants
Came upon a fish & chip shop (pappa's) great fish,chips,b&b & cup of tea £3.95!!!! Also Wetherspoons was better than expected .

Close to the sea, and railway (both mainline and heritage) good pier, also shopping centre is also good.

Fine restaurants nearby, pitch and putt also nearby as well.

Stayed at Great Western in May 2010 and would highly recommend this B&B. The owners are extremely helpful and informed us of the various places of interests in Torbay. The Compact room is clean,especially the shining toilet and basin. It is cosy with room on either side of the bed, bigger than some of the rooms I stayed in London for triple the price.The B&B is so central, within minutes to the railway station, town and a stone's throw to the beach. The Hearty Breakfast will keep you full until late afternoon , plenty of cereal choice to choose from. The interior is of Victorian era., with high ceiling, very spacious, would certainly stay again. Free parking which is essential, it enabled us to leave the car and tour this beautiful Devon coast. Overall a 5 star experience in service, ambience and tariff, and if you like Model trains and Tin Toys, it is a Mini museum to enjoy. Home from home, nothing is too much trouble. A big thank you to Cathy and Mel for a memorable holiday.
