My wife and I have been to the Bay Sands for a few years now and we have always been so satisfied with our stay. Last year we even took our friends with us. Our rooms are always clean and spacious and have fresh towels. There are even ironing facilities in the room which helps my wife keep down on the packing. There is always plenty of tea and coffee making, not just for 1 cup each as in many other places we have stayed in. We always have a friendy smile and chat with the owner at breakfast and look forward to our full english which sets us up for the day. We have always been made to feel so welcome that we would never stay anywhere else in Paignton. We would always recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

The only thing going for this hotel is that it is well situated. The room was depressing with nothing to sit on apart from the bed, which had a funny smell to it and the one side of the headboard was hanging off so we had to screw it back together. There was towels when we arrived to use and no clean ones were given to us for the whole week. There was complimentary soap and shower gel in the bathroom in a small basket which looked like it had been there untouched for god knows how long. An empty tube of cream fell from behind the radiator in the room and when i picked it up it was used to treat scabies and crabs! Room service, if you could call it that, was giving you a toilet roll. Don't think they owned a hoover. There was tea making facilities which we washed ourselves as they were left dirty. Breakfast is only between 8.30 and 9 and was a very basic menu. As for customer service, there wasn't any. The owner had a job to open her mouth, on arriving i actually wondered if she could speak english! The most she spoke was when asking what you wanted when sitting down for breakfast. Would not ever go back here!!!
