We decided to stop off in Bude for the night on our way through from Sheffield to St Ives and booked a night's stay at Riverview after finding on the Web. As you know the month leading up to our stay in July was memorable only for the biblical rain, and so it was the day we rolled into Bude.
Wet and cold we trudged up to Riverview (which, good to it's word, overlooked the picturesque river), early, and asked if we could come in. We were met by Martin who couldn't have been more welcoming. Although our rooms were not ready we were invited in to leave our bags and cone in and dry off.
Riverview is small but very welcoming. Well decorated with large bedrooms and local art on the walls throughout. Our bedroom had a huge bathroom which was nice.
Anyway, the weather improved dramatically (as it did remarkably for the coming week) and Bude is a lovely place to visit and we plan to have a full holiday there sometime soon.
Our breakfast was spot on and plentiful. Our hosts couldn't have been any more laid back and welcoming.
I would (and have) recommend Riverview to anyone looking for a B& B in Bude.
PS - On my return they even posted back an expensive coat my teenage son had left.. and we didn't even know! How's that for service?
