Having stayed here a couple of times I really think Northshore is a very special place to relax. Sean & Janine are excellent hosts, running a clean, comfortable, friendly and safe environment. They're always on hand (or not too far away) to help and really make you feel part of the place.
It's in a quiet residential street about 5 mins from Bude Strand. It has an big, clean and well equipped kitchen, a big dining room, comfortable living room and outside areas to relax and smoke if you want. Rooms are clean and simple and generally en suite - there are ample washing facilities anyway.
Lots of families and walkers tend to use this hostel so it's not a 24hour party house and that's good.
Totally recommended.

It's in a lovely old house in which the rooms are large, kitchen, dining and lounge are great. You don't feel cramped in this place. It was impeccably clean and comfy. Was able to park the car and town was just a short walk. Have a feeling that it would be a great place to stay in during summer as Bude is just out of the way for the typical Cornwall tourist route.

Northshore is a big rambling house on a hill in Bude. We arrived late on a cold summers day and felt relieved that Sean had put the heating on. We cooked in the large communual kitchen and were delighted to find that it was well equiped and clean.

Sean was very helpful in recommending local places of interest. He also helped us with providing a place to dry our tent. The place was full of cool characters from the uni students finishing their geography dissertation to some people just like us who were travelling around enjoying cornwall.

Rooms were clean and comfortable and the one we stayed in even had a wash basin which was great. The matress was a little lumpy.. but at the price we paid it was only slightly more expensive than camping and frankly it was a whole lot more enjoyable.

I would recommend this place to all people who want a relaxed vibe. Even families travelling on a budget.
