we were met at the door by the owner told were our room was did not show us the room couldnt care less we tried to make tea but the kettle was black in side room was not as big as photo shown we checked out and went to a travelodge would not recomend this hotel

we like a place to stay where we feel comfortable so we can relax and not have to dress for meals etc., and as I am not too mobile it needed to be in the centre of Callander, we were a bit wary when we saw one review on this site but as it said the opposite of the rest we decided to see for ourselves (especially when they were so helpful when we phoned) The room was lovely and clean with a fantastic view of the mountains. Comfy bed and breakfast was great. They were happy to give us dinner our first night as I was too tired to go out and told us about the river just yards away with a handy seat! Nothing was too much bother and always on hand to help. Callander a great wee town lovely shops we will definately be back. Free parking outside hotel good too!!

went with my father to Callander for a weekend break.We both enjoyed the easy walks and a great meal at the Italian.my father took Ill during the night with his heart condition and I must say the proprietor could not have been more helpful and considerate. I would recommend.

I had coaxed my sister to have a well deserved break with her partener this coming weekend for a two night stay
at the Highland House hotel in Callander. My sister booked last night and unfortunately I had to cancel her reservation today as she took unwell due to having an ongoing lung disease resulting in her requiring intravenus treatment.
The lady in question who took the booking was very rude and when I explained the situation she was not in the least interested and commented she would still be taking the deposit anyway When I asked her to reconsider this she again was very rude and even questioned as how my sister was fine last night when she made the booking.
When I informed her that I was surprised at her so called policy she then stated that she would not be taking the deposit and slammed the telephone receiver down.
This is not what you would expect, and I would strongly advise that she takes a course in customer service as I found her to be very unprofessional indeed Her manners and attitude were very upsetting . Due to these circumstances I will never be using this Hotel service.
