We were rather disappoined in our room which was very dusty. The bathroom had one or two cracked tiles and there was a large chip in the bath. Behind the toilet there was a pipe that had been leaking and had left a rather nasty looking brown mark. the louvre windows in the bathroom were filthy and near the bathroom mirror in all rooms was a notice which read "due to ongoing maintenance the water quality cannot be guaranteed" What did this mean ? Under the circumstances a litre bottle of water would have been appreciated. The toiletries in the bathroom were generous. The electric kettle was dusty and there was water left in it, which I don't like! However, the hotel is not without charm but needs some money spent on it. I know that a building of that age eats money but some improvements like getting rid of damp patches would be good. It took 15 mins. for a member of staff to check us out!

A lovely atmosphere .Our second visit and it just gets better. The food ,wine,staff all make for a superb stay. It's in the country but it's near everywhere so easy for Bournemouth,Ringwood etc. We were made most welcome .

We enjoyed a fabulous stay between October 14 and October 16, 2011 at this tremendous English country inn. Sara and Mark the owners could not have been more welcoming or the staff more helpful. The food was excellent and the locals in the bar were a friendly bunch. It proved a brilliant base for visits to Studland - Corfe Castle what a stunning place, Portland Bill is etched in my mind forever and the emotional impact of our visit to Tyneham village will remain with me for many a day.Tyrrells Ford has an amazing guest lounge with a staircase straight from a film set and a library packed with books,and games. I am a Scot and was utterly entranced by this truly English country inn. Will we be back - you bet!!

My diving club is having it's third xmas meal here, my fishing club has just had it's third fund raising meal and auction and my family had a meal for over 20 in june and all of these have gone without a hitch. Very profesional, very friendly, excellent food and the landlord knows his rael ale. I will cirtainly be going back.
