“Top quality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

A really great find. Lovely clean and modern 1 bed flat in a development next to the Baltic. You can't really beat the location for both Gateshead Baltic and Sage, and for Newcastle over the bridge.

Dominic met us outside the block after kindly waiting for us to walk from Newcastle Central (took about 20 mins along the quayside). He seemed friendly and was very cheery. The flat as everything we needed - fully-equipped kitchen, flatscreen TV, fridge-freezer, washing machine, hairdryer, iron, free wifi, towels and linen. Views weren't too great - over a building site and over the rest of the apartment blocks, but that didn't matter. The bed was o.k. if a little squeaky. The block was quiet, although the building work over the road had a generator that hummed all night.

I would definitely recommend staying here if you want more freedom than a hotel, especially if you want to cook for yourself. There is a big Tesco for supplied just past the college towards the centre of Gateshead, and there are some nice bistros and pubs over the bridge in Newcastle.

“Fantastic-highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

We were delighted with the overall quality of our apartment. The facilities exceeded our expectations, very modern and spacious with high quality furnishing and decoration. Free wi-fi and secure car parking were a bunus.
I would thoroughly recommend NGSA to anyone-pure luxury. Its great to have the extra space and independence this type of accommodation provides. Location was perfect- a fantastic view of the Millennium Bridge from the balcony was spectacular at night. Well done Tripadvisor!

“Home from Home (literally!)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

Following a flood at our home our insurer arranged accommodation for us with newcastle gateshead serviced apartments. Despite the extensive damage to our property my wife and I were delighted to have been given accommodation at baltic quay. The 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in had everything we could have asked for and more. The apartment was spacious, furnished to a high standard and immaculately kept. I would wish a stay here for anyone in a similar predicament. We can't thank dominic enough for his top class service and attention to detail. Thanks again.

“THE place to stay for secondments to Newcastle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

My company booked accommodation with Newcastle Gateshead serviced apartments for my family and I during my secondment to our North Tyneside office. We had a two bedroom apartment which had everything we needed for our 3 month stay including all kitchen utensils, Internet, bedding and towels. It is just like staying in a hotel but having your own apartment. The location is excellent in terms of the surroundings (right on the quayside) and easy access to the city centre and surrounding areas. I can not comment on price as my company paid for the stay but whatever the price it was worth paying.

“Clean & Modern”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2011

Clean, modern, well-equipped apartment. No.96 overlooked industrial buildings (the north side of the block would overlook the river). Room is divided into three areas for bedroom, lounge and kitchen, plus the bathroom. Toiletries were good. No drawer storage space and only a small amount of hanging. Comfotable bed. Wifi is available.
Difficult to find as Gateshead Quays signs are not clear. Need to cross the river to get to restaurants but the block is next to the Milennium Bridge and convenient for Baltic and the Sage.
Access is via the car park which is a bit inconvenient (the front door of the block leads to a scruffy part of gateshead). If you want to self cater there is a small Tesco 10 mins walk away over the river.
We paid £84 per night which I think was reasonable
Having stayed in both, on balance I preferred Staybridge Suites for the better location and more facilities, although it is more expensive.

Room Tip: Ask if they have north facing apartments
