Stayed many times, can't wait to go back! Food fantastic, lovely homely feel. Open fire is lovely. Rooms are gorgeous full of character. Malcolm the owner is so welcoming. Staff are first class. Great place to stay!

We found this hotel when looking for a meal, although we were staying in a B&B. From then on we ate there every night. The food was fresh and inviting - in particular the seaweed fed lamb was excellent as was all the seafood on the menu. Coeliac Disease was easily managed with their personalised service. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting of HIghland Park whisky before our meal each night together with the ambience of the bar area. The wonderful views from the dining room and the long days meant that the views stayed with us throughout our meal. When we go to Kirkwall again, we will definitely stay at Lynnfield Hotel..

Lucky enough to experience one of their wine tasting dinners. Accommodation, service, staff and food were superb!!!!!

Stayed 4 nights in August on our way to Shetland. Room was spacious, the bathroom was massive and we appreciated the four poster bed. The small decanters of Highland Park scotch (distillery next door!) and local wine were a lovely touch. The staff and manager/owner, Malcolm, were all very helpful and friendly. Lovely people who all went that extra mile. Helped us out when we had a transport problem which we are eternally grateful for. The food was all excellent, well presented and it was good to see an emphasis on local Orcadian fare. Had the best steak in my life at this hotel. Bit of a walk into town but taxis are cheap! Our only negative point was the lack of water pressure in the bathroom. We certainly left feeling cared for and rested. All part of the warm Orcadian welcome.Will return one day and stay for longer.
